According to lawyer Alexander Khaminsky, the reason for the slowdown in the work of YouTube video hosting may be violations of the law by Roskomnadzor. Expert Shared His thoughts in an interview with 360.ru.
Rosteleset Association filed a complaint with the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) about discrimination against telecom operators due to uneven slowdown of YouTube, Google search engine and their services. This has led to a significant increase in the number of user complaints against providers regarding disruptions in accessing YouTube via Wi-Fi.
The expert stressed that without a technical examination it is difficult to determine who is to blame: Google or Roskomnadzor. He also noted that if one access area is blocked in the global Internet, access to information can be provided through other access points.
Khaminsky added that all the passages through which the information passes include technical equipment of Roskomnadzor, which may lead to violation of anti-monopoly legislation.
“Some information flows may have been given an advantage over others. “This is where antitrust legislation may be violated,” Khaminsky said.
In this case, the FAS may issue an order to stop the violation of antitrust laws.
Previous YouTube traffic in Russia fallen twice.
