Russian vending operator Uvenco is developing voice-controlled coffee machines. In this respect reports publication “Kommersant” (“Kommersant”).
Kommersant noticed that Uvenco posted on hh.ru a vacancy for an embedded systems development engineer who describes the voice control system. According to the vacancy text, the engineer will need to develop a system consisting of several microphones, similar to those used in smart speakers. Additionally, the expert must have knowledge of the algorithms used in speech capture.
Later, plans to develop “smart” coffee vending machines were confirmed to Kommersant by Uvenco President Boris Belotserkovsky. According to him, the voice assistant being developed is aimed at the future Nero Professional coffee machine, which will be equipped with Self micromarkets. Additionally, Belotserkovsky explained that the development budget is a subsidy from the Ministry of Industry and Trade. Uvenco’s top executive did not disclose the amount of the subsidy.
Kommersant suggested that the platform of the Nero Professional voice control system could be one of the Russian assistants such as Salyut from SberDevices, Alice from Yandex or Marusya from VK. Uvenco did not comment on this assumption.
