Apple continues to work on a mixed reality headset, according to foreign media reports. The prototype of the device has already been shown to the board of directors and the presentation is expected this year. The new product may be shown as part of the WWDC 2022 conference, which kicks off on June 6.

The headset will reportedly receive 14 internal cameras, which will accurately reproduce the owner’s facial expressions and create realistic avatars. Also, the first model will support some iPad games. Hand gestures are used to control.

Until now, the novelty is under the working title Apple Vision. Note that the creation of the device was attended by Jony Ive, who has been out of Apple since 2019. He was involved in the layout and ergonomics of the device.

It should be noted that the headset will be completely self-contained – no connection to an iPhone or Mac is required. The sale will start in 2023, the price will be $2,000.
