Enthusiast tests water-resistant smartphones in an unusual way 20:23

YouTube channel host TechDroid conducted an experiment to find out how IP68-rated smartphones respond when charging in wet conditions. Curious experiment results still in the video.

Four popular smartphones joined the experience: Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, iPhone 14 Pro, Google Pixel 7 Pro and Xiaomi 13 Ultra. Blogger poured water on the charging connectors and then connected them to the network. None of the smartphones failed – they all continued to work, but each device reacted differently to moisture.

Therefore, the iPhone 14 Pro immediately issued a warning with the advice of turning off the smartphone from the power source and letting it dry. In this case, charging is completely blocked. The Pixel 7 Pro also sent a notification but provided an option to enable charging. Xiaomi 13 Ultra did not show any notifications. Moreover, the smartphone even started charging without turning off the power.

It is stated that the most thoughtful and safe smartphone is the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. It even warned the user that the port would dry before connecting the cable, and warned the user to remove the cable when connected. He also suggested using wireless charging – such a solution was not provided by the iPhone, Xiaomi and Pixel protection system.
