A group of Tesla employees applied to the public for the billionaire Ilon mask, who wanted to leave the company’s general manager. This step was taken against the background of the problems related to the sale of electric vehicles, and according to the authors of circulation, it is associated with the negative impact of public activity on the image of the electric vehicle manufacturer. According to Electrek, the appeal was published in an informal way on a specially created website of the initiative group. Considering that Tesla does not have traditional trade unions, such methods become a way of expressing dissatisfaction.
The authors of the letter believe that the status of a mask as a public figure is seriously damaging the company’s reputation, which becomes one of the reasons for the reduction of demand for its products. In the first quarter, despite the total growth of the electric vehicle market in the United States, they show that Tesla sales decreased by 9% for the same period. At the same time, in their opinion, the quality and pricing policy of the products were not the main factors in the decrease in sales.
The circulation claims that the mask is pushed by buyers in the American market. The letter also witnesses problems that the stocks of the updated model Y passes, even in the US warehouses, accumulate, according to the authors, to underestimate the company’s management.
Although it is difficult to determine the full reliability of the letter, its origin is partly confirmed by its Matthew Labrot certificate, one of the authors. Labrob, who has been working in Tesla for more than five years and pioneered personnel training in the sales and logistics department for three years, attempted to publish an objection about the unsuccessful social network X (owned by the mask). Labrobt was fired from the company soon.
The appeal itself emphasizes that the text itself reflects the position of only a part of Tesla employees, not the whole team.
