The San Francisco Building Control Department will investigate allegations made by six former Twitter employees. The lawsuit alleges that the company violated the law when remodeling office rooms into “hotel rooms”, informs CNBC.
The lawsuit, filed in Delaware, alleges that employees were forced to lie to inspectors and homeowners that these would be temporary rest rooms when converting offices into dormitories.
Additionally, one of the unnamed employees was instructed to install non-compliant door locks in these rooms, which should close automatically when fire suppression systems are triggered. Locks that claimed to be compatible were too expensive, and instead the company ordered “install cheaper locks now” that didn’t meet security standards.
Plaintiffs also allege that Twitter failed to pay severance and bonuses due to laid-off employees. It is also stated that some employees are discriminated against based on their age, gender and sexual preferences.
CNBC reporters took to Twitter for more information, but the company responded with an emoji letter containing a pile of excrement.
