In 2023, 5G base communication stations will begin to appear in the Moscow metro. About informs TASS cites the words of the head of the state company VEB.RF, Igor Shuvalov.
It was noted that Russian-designed stations, which were introduced at the VEB.RF fair held on January 24, 2023, will be installed in the metropolitan metro.
“We hope to start installing them this year,” said Shuvalov about the presentation of domestic telecom equipment.
Dmitry Lakontsev, head of the NTI Wireless Communication and Competence Center for the Internet of Things at Skoltech, which represents the base stations to Shuvalov, stated that by the end of 2023, at least four metro stations in Moscow will be provided with 5G communication. It’s not about the tunnels between stations, it’s about their lobbies and platforms.
