India is running on its own mobile operating system called IndOS. It is expected to compete with solutions from Apple and Google. informs Business Standard version.
According to the source, the Indian government, startups and scientists are responsible for the development of IndOS.
“India is one of the world’s largest markets for mobile devices. “Our goal is to create a secure Indian mobile operating system that can provide choice and competition in the Indian market as well,” said an unnamed Indian official.
It is stated that Android currently accounts for more than 97% of Indian users.
There is no information about the timing of the project yet. It is also unknown which manufacturer’s devices will come preloaded with IndOS.
