Learn about the qualifiers where Mexican clubs slipped behind in the Concachampions and how they bounced back.
Mexican teams have long been central figures in the Conca Champions. This is clear from the competition’s history: the top five winners are from Mexico, and from 2006 to 2021 every champion came from the MX league. In this tournament, there have been dark moments as well as dramatic rescues, when the national clubs showed their true character to overturn fate and win.
In the 2023 edition, Atlas joined the rarefied group of teams that staged a comeback from a sizable deficit, overturning a 4-1 score at the Jalisco Stadium to advance in the CONCACAF tournament.
