The Boca Juniors coach felt unwell during training on Wednesday and spent the night under medical observation at a local clinic.

On a typical Wednesday morning at the Boca Predio de Ezeiza, the Xeneizes were preparing for next Sunday’s clash with Instituto in the eighth round of the Professional League. There was hope that clarity would emerge about the lineup that will face Gloria. Yet an unexpected ambulance arrival unsettled everyone, as Hugo Ibarra needed to be taken to a clinic as a precaution after feeling unwell during training.

WHAT HAPPENED TO IBARRA DURING TRAINING

El Negro arrived at the training facility with a heavy headache and a somber mood. Throughout the morning, his discomfort intensified, and he experienced persistent nasal bleeding. The medical staff assessed the situation and decided it was prudent to move him to a nearby hospital to stabilize his condition.

In the afternoon, after his condition was stabilized and he underwent a series of evaluations, the medical directorate at the Italian Hospital of San Justo, where Ibarra was admitted for treatment, released a report explaining: “The patient Hugo Ibarra was admitted today at 11:30 am to the emergency room of the Italian Hospital of San Justo due to a nosebleed lasting three hours. There, he was treated in collaboration with the ENT department. Nasal epistaxis of arterial origin was identified and controlled with topical treatment. The patient remained stable during hospitalization and was included for follow-up as part of his evolving care.”

After spending the night under observation, Thursday morning arrived, and he was discharged to return home in the care of his medical team.

The club stated that the hospitalization was precautionary. Mauricio Serna, a member of the football council, had predicted on Wednesday that Ibarra would likely be back on Thursday’s training, which would take place in the afternoon.

Everything points to the coach being ready to sit on the substitution bench at La Bombonera against Gloria on Sunday, with no apparent issues preventing his participation in the match.

Note: This update reflects the team’s official communications and medical assessments as reported in the press, with ongoing monitoring to ensure player safety and readiness for the upcoming fixture. (Goal)
