Sailing Cruiser and single designs

The ORC cruiser A and B races, along with the Promotion category, formed the core of the Saturday schedule for the LV I edition of Maritime Week. The centerpiece boat race involved starting and then circumnavigating Tabarca Island, which drew a notable increase in registrations in 2022. A total of 27 boats competed, up from 17 in 2021, highlighting the expanding interest in the event.

In the Promotion category, the RCRA boats claimed the top spots with Perseus taking first place, followed by Incredible in second and Pecata in third. In ORC A, Tanit IV-Medilevel from the Real Club de Regatas de Alicante earned first place, edging Foxy Lady from Club Nautico de Campello and the Spanish entry Pecata from RCRA into subsequent positions.

The fleet in ORC B saw Dax take the victory, with Tatan and No Te Nom following. These three boats belonged to the Real Club de Regatas de Alicante, reinforcing the club’s strength in this division. Sunday featured the first J22 single-design meeting of Maritime Week, where ten crews came together to race in a fleet of six J-22 boats from the Alicante Royal Regatta Club, marking an exciting new chapter for the event.

Rowing

Alicante Maritime Week stood as a cornerstone for the city’s rowing season, opening with a full day of competition on Saturday the 17th. The program included Olympic-style rowing races and a series of fixed-bank events, with a mix of adults and youths competing in various heats.
