Maritime Week returns to the Alicante Royal Regatta Club, set to grace the city center waters from December 8 to 10. This event stands as one of the longest-running competitions in the country and marks a festive milestone on the end-of-season calendar, celebrating its 57th edition this year with a blend of tradition and high competition.
The light sailing tests will showcase a diverse lineup. Classes include 420, ILCA 7, ILCA 6, and ILCA 4, with a fleet drawn from the Valencian Community that serves as a benchmark for regional sailing prowess. The second wave of racing is expected to bring together more than 80 crew members, while the Olympic ILCA 7 fleet will feature 18 competing boats. The 420 class, a strategic division, gathers 14 teams and evokes the familiar waters around Alicante, where the regatta already has a storied history. The event follows a world championship held the previous summer, underscoring the region’s ongoing commitment to high-caliber sailing.

The schedule culminates with the Cruise class on December 16, highlighting the broader scope of competition that week and the inclusive nature of the program for sailors of varying ages and experience levels.
The Real Club de Regatas de Alicante will once again host Olympic Week and, looking ahead to 2024, Spanish Championship and Optimist Sailing Week. The event is anticipated to become both a national and international reference for this youth class as well as for ILCA 4 clinics, establishing a platform where young talents can train, compete, and showcase their progress in a prestigious setting.
