Speaking about the sacking of Chelsea head coach Thomas Tuchel, former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher recalled Russian entrepreneur Roman Abramovich, who previously owned the London club. Carragher quotes sky sports.
“I was stunned. I thought the new regime at Chelsea would be different from Abramovich’s management. A few days ago I said we should be afraid for Tuchel if Abramovich is head of Chelsea, because that has already happened with great coaches: Ancelotti, Conte, Mourinho,” Carragher said.
Chelsea announced on September 7 that Tuchel was sacked. The 49-year-old German expert has been leading the team since the beginning of 2021. Under him, Chelsea won the Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and Club World Cup.
In six rounds of the Premier League this season, Chelsea have amassed ten points and are sixth in the championship standings.
The London club lost the first match of the Champions League group stage. Chelsea lost 0-1 to Dinamo Zagreb away. In the 13th minute of the match, the only goal came from Dynamo’s striker Mislav Orsic. Chelsea will play Austrian Salzburg at home in the next round.
