Russian team reacted to Croatia’s defeat of Japan in penalty shootout in 2022 World Cup 05.12.2022, 23:29

The press service of the Russian national team reacted to the victory of the Croatian national team in the 1/8 final match of the 2022 World Cup against Japan in the penalty shootout (1:1, 3:1).

“I know how you feel, bro” is written on the picture of the Russians comforting the Japanese.

Recall that in the 1/4 fiala match of the 2018 World Cup, Russia also lost to the Croats in the penalty shootout.

The match, held at Al-Wakra stadium in Qatar, ended with Croatia winning the penalty shoot-out (1:1, 3:1).

In the 43rd minute, Japanese forward Daizen Maeda opened the score. Croatia’s Ivan Perisic equalized with a header by Dejan Lovren in the 55th minute. The teams failed to score again, neither in regular time nor in extra time. Everything was determined in the penalty shootout.
