“The President has never surrendered his authorities, and every member of parliament should understand how the country operates during periods of cohabitation,” stated Stanisław Żaryn, Advisor to the President of the Republic of Poland, on the program Woronicza 17 on TVP Info.

Justyna Dobrosz-Oracz’s guests on the program Woronicza 17 discussed the first hundred days of Donald Tusk’s administration and the promises from the election campaign that remain unfulfilled.

The legislative process appears straightforward. The hierarchy of legal sources begins with the constitution and laws. Where are these laws? Why isn’t the Sejm functioning effectively? Where are the statutes and the solutions that Parliament promised?

– Jacek Ozdoba pressed MPs Kropiwnicki and Petru during the televised discussion.

Unalienable powers of the president

Stanisław Żaryn, an advisor to the President, countered allegations from coalition MPs by affirming that Andrzej Duda has maintained an impartial stance in state affairs and seeks constructive relations with any Polish government, regardless of its political makeup.

The President has shown willingness to cooperate with the government, yet he will not relinquish powers he holds by right. He maintains contact with various ministers and implements policy in areas where his authority applies.

– Żaryn explained.

Dobrosz-Oracz suggested that President Duda might “refer everything to the Constitutional Court.”

Żaryn responded that such a move is not a sign of resistance; it simply reflects a careful approach to ensuring that the Sejm’s current composition is appropriate for the tasks at hand.

– He added.

According to Żaryn, the President is fully aware of his position and the political power he wields, and he has no intention of surrendering any powers to which he is lawfully entitled.

The President has never given up his powers. Parliamentarians must recognize how the country functions in cohabitation and keep that in mind. The President carries a broad social mandate that lasts through the entire term of office.

– Żaryn asserted.

Electoral decisions are significant, but they do not grant autocratic authority. The President acts within the legal framework, retaining powers and authority within the political system.

– Żaryn added.

The fall of Tusk

Jacek Ozdoba of Sovereign Poland argued that Prime Minister Donald Tusk was responsible for failing to implement his program during the first hundred days as promised, a goal that proved impossible from the start.

“It seemed the Prime Minister clung to the idea of delivering a hundred points in a hundred days, a notion analysts saw as unrealistic from the outset. No one told him to present such an offer to the Polish people,” he commented.

The discussion touched on remarks by the Prime Minister after a government meeting, suggesting a need to reorganize parts of the administration. It was implied that certain areas were not being executed at the desired level.

– argued the MP of Sovereign Poland.

Attack on the National Bank of Poland

The discussion turned to a coalition motion aimed at bringing NBP President Adam Glapiński before the State Tribunal.

The coalition has been accused of trying to seize control of new institutions rather than focusing on governance and the law. Critics say the attempt could undermine constitutional order. The matter touched on the prosecutor’s office, where the handling of specific cases has raised questions about consistency and independence.

– Ozdoba commented.

There is confidence that the National Bank of Poland can safeguard Poland’s interests and that President Glapiński will support government activities, including the coalition’s agendas in December.

– concluded the MP.

There was no shortage of provocative statements about the National Bank of Poland’s independence and its role in Poland’s economic trajectory, including discussions about a potential move toward euro adoption.

– The content covered various opinions and reflections on governance, central bank independence, and the balance of powers within the Polish political system, presented through parliamentary discourse and media commentary.
