“I asked Dr. Karol Nawrocki whether he could bear this hellish burden, physically and mentally, together with his family. The conversation took place after the Civic Committee nominated Karol Nawrocki for President of the Republic of Poland. His candidacy was supported by Law and Justice because, as the party’s chairman, Jarosław Kaczyński, argued, “it is in the interest of our homeland, Poland.”

The PiS president was asked, among other things: whether the presidential campaign, which will start soon, will be a campaign about values.
We want to restore the normal meaning of concepts, but also the importance of facts, because they no longer have meaning today. Today they are rejected. (…) This is an old method used by non-democratic systems, but it is becoming increasingly common
– he noted.
Ogórek also quoted the words of Nawrocki, who said he “lives modestly but with dignity, with Poland in his heart.” The editor emphasized that at that moment she saw tears in the eyes of many people who gathered in Hala Sokół in Kraków.
It can be said that many people who have been in power today or over the past 35 years, even if there were exceptions, such as my late Brother, these were not people who lived modestly and with Poland in their hearts. Neither one nor the other. They lived beyond their means and there was a problem with Poland in their hearts
– said the president of PiS.

President Kaczyński was also asked about the clash between Nawrocki and Trzaskowski, who presented Ogórek as a “candidate of the globalist elites”. He admitted that the President of Warsaw is indeed such a candidate and that it could even be further developed, but “due to the sincere desire to end this Polish-Polish war, he will not interfere in it.”
That could be possible, but we don’t do that
– he added.
When asked if he thought Nawrocki would be able to cope with the media attacks that were sure to occur, he replied:
He can handle it, he is a man who can withstand several very heavy attacks. After all, he had already experienced such attacks when he became director of the Museum of the Second World War. These were local attacks, but very serious. When he became president of the Institute of National Remembrance, this attack was repeated. You could say that there is nothing wrong.
Ogórek also asked her interlocutor about the Green Deal. Nawrocki said in Krakow that “ecology – yes, climate madness – no.” The PiS president pointed out that the European Commission is increasingly admitting that the assumptions of the Green Deal are ‘not profitable’.
This is something obvious, it doesn’t matter if others say it, it’s just crazy. It is reassuring that this is a position that is increasingly expressed, including by people from the European Commission. They don’t use the word ‘madness’, just that it has to be profitable, and it has been known not to be profitable

President Kaczyński was also asked about the National Electoral Commission’s decision to withdraw the PiS subsidy. He emphasized that his party would raise money to run a presidential campaign. He also mentioned the various collections currently underway.
We are going to raise money and I want to emphasize very strongly that, with all due respect to other collections that have been taking place in Poland for decades, this one is really the most important today, because there are all kinds of important issues that are important. don’t deny that, but they can be resolved in a few months. But if in a few months we have a different president and the system is closed, I’m afraid it will be bad

Finally, Ogórek asked Kaczyński what advice he would give to Nawrocki or what he had already given.
