In accordance with the decision of PiS President Jarosław Kaczyński, Law and Justice will allocate a quarter of a million zlotys to help flood victims. “The financial support proposed by Prime Minister Donald Tusk for the reconstruction of buildings affected by flooding is insufficient,” said PiS Club President Mariusz Błaszczak, presenting the PiS project, which includes covering the costs of reconstruction “100 percent”.
Project to help flood victims
During a press conference, Law and Justice politicians presented a bill that would provide assistance to flood victims. Among the proposals, they mentioned the creation of a special Fund for mitigating the consequences of floods or financing up to 98%. replacement costs of investments in local governments. MPs also want each of the injured to be able to apply for non-refundable emergency aid in the amount of more than PLN 24,000. zlotys.
The project also assumes support for the reconstruction of buildings “100 percent”. As the president of the PiS club said, this support would be based on the activities of experts and appraisers, so that the process would be “transparent” “so that everyone could know what costs were incurred as a result of the actions of the natural disaster.”
Meeting at the offices of PiS MPs
I want to start by thanking everyone who supports those affected. Since Sunday, a collection has been held in the offices of members of parliament and senators for Law and Justice
– said Mariusz Błaszczak.
Many thanks to everyone who is participating in this collection. The aid campaign in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship is coordinated by PiS MP Paweł Hreniak, and in the Opole Voivodeship by PiS MP Marcin Ociepa
– said the former Minister of National Defense.
A quarter of a million to help the wounded through Caritas
We as a party have also decided to distribute the money through Caritas – for the benefit of the victims. I spoke about this topic with the leader of Law and Justice, Prime Minister Jarosław Kaczyński. We will spend a quarter of a million zlotys on helping those affected. We were robbed by the Coalition nominees on December 13 at the National Electoral Commission, but thanks to the generosity of the Poles we were able to collect the money. That is why we decided to donate part of the collected money to the victims
– the politician explained.
As Mariusz Błaszczak said, the financial support proposed by the government for the reconstruction of buildings affected by flooding is insufficient.
These are too low amounts for which it is impossible to rebuild anything, it is impossible to rebuild the house
– said Mariusz Błaszczak.
Extra leave
The package proposed by PiS also provides for the possibility of additional leave for all injured and those involved in rescue operations, as well as support for entrepreneurs, similar to the so-called Covid fund.
That is why PiS MP Zbigniew Kuźmiuk called on the Speaker of the Sejm, Szymon Hołownia, to convene a meeting as soon as possible to “talk about it very thoroughly”.
Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced on Monday that flood victims can count on PLN 10,000 in emergency aid, as well as up to PLN 100,000 for the renovation of apartments or reconstruction of utility rooms and up to PLN 200,000 zloty.
