The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Administration, Marcin Kierwiński, confirmed that the results of the audit regarding the grenade launcher explosion at the police headquarters will be known in February. According to him, it is already clear that they wanted to sweep the matter under the carpet. The new police authorities requested that the formation, and not the former commander, be given injured party status in the case.
On TVP Info, Minister of the Interior and Administration Marcin Kierwiński spoke about the audit regarding the firing of a grenade launcher into the office of the Chief Police Commander.
The fundamental question of this audit is: what happened after the grenade launcher exploded? Who participated in the process to cover up this scandal, and how was it done? Why was the case against General Szymczyk not submitted to the prosecutor’s office?
– said Kierwiński.
He also said that the new police authorities have already submitted a request to give the formation the status of the injured party in the case, and not the former commander.
The minister has indicated that the above questions will be answered reliably by the investigation. But now it is clear – as he emphasized – that they wanted to “sweep the matter under the carpet”.
The police Internal Affairs Bureau, which is responsible for investigating irregularities, said it was not involved in the case.
– pointed to the head of the ministry.
According to him, the former commander should apologize for damaging the image of the police.
General Szymczyk is an extremely compromised person
– Kierwiński added.
Local government elections
I have always been in favor of a broad front that groups all pro-democracy groups, assured the head of the Ministry of the Interior and Administration, Marcin Kierwiński of PO, when asked about the upcoming local government elections. This victory is important because it will be further proof that the times of PiS are over, he said.
The PO politician was asked on TVP Info whether there should be a common, broad coalition front for the local elections.
I have always been in favor of a broad front that brings together all pro-democratic groups
– Kierwiński replied.
He noted that the most likely scenario in the coming elections is two electoral blocs.
That is, on the one hand, Trzecia Droga-PSL, the party of Mr (Szymon) Hołownia, and on the other hand the Civic Coalition, that is to say my political formation, probably in collaboration with the left. I think these two blocs will contribute to a major victory for pro-democratic forces
– he said.
He added that this victory is important because it will be further proof that – as he judged – the times of PiS are over.
On Thursday, the leaders of Poland 2050 and PSL – Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz and Szymon Hołownia – announced that their parties would establish a joint election committee for assemblies, provinces and municipalities.
In turn, negotiations are underway between the Civic Coalition and the New Left regarding a joint start of the local government elections.
Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced last week that local elections will take place on April 7 and 21.
Sienkiewicz’s defense
Minister Kierwiński also assured that he was on Bartłomiej Sienkiewicz’s side.
Yes, I have full confidence in these decisions of Minister Sienkiewicz, because I know they are legal. Each owner has the right, as follows directly from the regulations, to liquidate the company he owns, and here TVP or Polskie Radio, as commercial law companies, are not subject to any other regulations.
– he said.
Kierwiński called the courts’ decisions “imprudent.” He argued that we were talking about “political appointments”.
In the legal system we have many political appointees who still lack the power of PiS and make several imprudent decisions. In my personal opinion, we are dealing with a situation where there are many political appointees in the legal system who still lack the power of PiS and make several imprudent decisions. But fortunately there are courts, Minister Sienkiewicz stated that this matter will be brought before the court and the court will decide whether the refusal to register was an appropriate action by the registrar.
– he said.
As you can see, court decisions are of little importance to KO politicians. Tribal membership is important. And to think that these people position themselves as self-appointed defenders of norms.
