It is perfectly clear that a new government will be formed. However, if we manage to obtain a vote of confidence within the next fourteen days, it will be – as we can already see today – an extremely difficult task – said Przemysław Czarnek, Minister of Education and Science in se.pl.
A vote of confidence in the new government?
The head of MEiN was asked whether he would like to be part of the new composition of the Council of Ministers, which will be presented by Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki on November 27.
If the Prime Minister continues to entrust me with the position of Minister of Education and Science, I will of course accept it. However, I don’t know if he wants to trust me
– he pointed out.
According to him, it is completely obvious that there will be a new government.
However, as we can already see, it is an extremely difficult task to achieve a vote of confidence within the next fourteen days.
– he assessed.
“If we were not the total majority, we will not be the total opposition.
When asked if Law and Justice would be a total opposition, he emphasized that “we will be a constructive opposition.”
Just as we were not the total majority, we will not be the total opposition
– he specified.
I would like to remind you that in 2019 we had an absolute majority in the Sejm: 235 votes. We could then have said that we would not admit these or any other candidates to the Sejm Presidium. We could say that the Presidium of the Sejm was ours – who would do something to us? (…) But no, we formed the presidium on an equal basis: three members of the United Right and three members of the opposition – and we did not indicate which of the opposition would be in the presidium
Czarnek gave an example.
Coalition capabilities are lacking
Referring to the settlements after the parliamentary election results, he said that “we probably did not pay enough care to have a potential coalition partner.”
I regret that we may not have spoken openly enough with our colleagues, for example from the Polish People’s Party or the Confederation, because we have cooperated in many areas (…) I think this cooperation should be more open to strengthen the capacity of the coalition.
– added the head of MEiN.
Will they retire the PiS president? “Not nice”
Czarnek was also asked whether he agreed with the words of PiS president Jarosław Kaczyński, who called Donald Tusk a bastard.
NO
– he answered briefly. He explained that he had not heard this statement directly, but “he certainly would not use such a term against Mr. Donald Tusk or anyone else.”
The head of MEiN was also asked to comment on the statements of Jan Krzysztof Ardanowski and Marcin Mastalerek, sending Jarosław Kaczyński into retirement.
Not nice
– he said, adding that he did not endorse these words.
Everyone decides for themselves when he or she retires. President Jarosław Kaczyński seems to have achieved the second result in Poland in these parliamentary elections, right after Donald Tusk; received almost 180 thousand votes in Świętokrzyskie County, so no one should demand 180,000 on behalf of this 180,000 PLN. voters sending President Jarosław Kaczyński into retirement
– said Czarnek.
When asked if he was afraid that PiS would collapse if Kaczyński left the position of president, he replied:
I claim that without President Jarosław Kaczyński PiS would not exist at all and there would not be ten very good years for Poland and Poland, and I would like him to remain in this position
– he expressed his hope.
Starting in Lublin?
In the context of the upcoming local government elections, he was asked whether he would like to run for president of Lublin.
NO. At least, I don’t know. It seems to me that there are many other candidates, much better than me, for this position of President of Lublin, and under the conditions in Lublin.
– Czarnek explained and added that he is the PiS representative in the Lublin district.
