The opposition claims a supposedly huge budget gap, while in reality the budget situation today is very good, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki emphasized on Sunday. He also assured that he would protect the interests of both PiS voters and those who voted for the opposition, “but they expect a proud and honest Poland.”
In a podcast posted on social media on Sunday evening, the head of government noted that already in the first days after the elections that took place on October 15, “there were voices from the opposition that some promises might not be fulfilled.”
Some politicians have already started pushing a narrative about a supposedly huge budget gap, when in fact the budget situation today is very good
– Morawiecki emphasized.
According to the Prime Minister, such votes by the opposition parties could be the beginning of a “major retreat from their election promises”.
The same ones that Poles remember from 2007 and subsequent years. Then Mr. Tusk (Head of the PO Donald Tusk – PAP) also promised that he would not increase the pensions of many people, and he did so. He also promised that taxes would be reduced to 15%. and VAT, PIT and VAT. He didn’t
– he pointed.
Mateusz Morawiecki pointed out that the opposition talked a lot about election fraud before the elections, including: that he is afraid that the elections will not be conducted in a fair manner.
I fear that the greatest election fraud may yet be yet to come. A fraud in which most of the promises made during this election campaign are evaded. (…) Considering how many have been submitted, we may be dealing with the largest electoral fraud in the Third Polish Republic
– said the Prime Minister.
Donald Tusk has already broken his first promise. The day after the elections he would fly to Brussels and unblock the KPO. Now it turned out that it was just a metaphor. We will see how many more metaphors the opposition has used in recent months
– added Morawiecki.
The Prime Minister also assured that “regardless of the situation in the next term” he will protect the interests of voters who voted for PiS, as well as those who voted for the opposition, “but expect a proud and honest Poland.”
High voter turnout
Such a high turnout in the parliamentary elections is a reason to be proud for Poland. They can envy us in France, Italy or Spain, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki emphasized in the podcast on Sunday.
In the podcast published on Sunday, Morawiecki summarized last week’s parliamentary elections. As he recalled, they were “record-breaking in terms of turnout,” which “reached almost 75 percent.”
Crowds of people voted in both small towns and big cities. The turnout was also record-breaking in many places in rural areas. Among the Polish community, a record 636,000 people registered for the elections. compatriots, and the turnout there was more than 90%. We can say that 34 years after the fall of communism, the vast majority of Poles feel responsible for their own country, for our common good. We have shown that modern Poland has become a Republic of Poland not only in name
– he said.
The Prime Minister thanked his fellow countrymen for their participation in the elections.
Such a high turnout is a reason to be proud for Poland. In France, Italy or Spain they can envy us
– he said. He also mentioned Sunday’s referendum, the result of which is not binding. “More than 40 percent took part in the referendum. all voting citizens. That’s about 12 million people,” he noted.
The head of government also drew attention to the result of PiS.
Our political camp has won the elections for the third time in a row. This is an enormous amount of trust from more than 7.5 million voters. It is also a promise to work hard during the Sejm’s next term. Personally, I am also very grateful to everyone who voted for me in Silesia. There were over 117,000 of you. This is a result that exceeded my wildest expectations and for which I am very grateful. It motivates me to work even harder
– he concluded.
On Tuesday, the National Electoral Commission announced the official results of the parliamentary elections. According to her, PiS won 194 seats in the Sejm elections, KO – 157; Third way – 65; New Left – 26; Konfederacja – 18. The basis for joint action
The balance between political forces in parliament must be the basis for common action and cooperation, and not for war and total opposition, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki emphasized in Sunday’s podcast.
According to the head of government, one thing is certain, even though we are not sure who will form the government after the elections: “society supported the continuation of PiS’s active policy.”
The results of these voters also showed that Poles would expect a greater balance of power in parliament. In the next Sejm, each of the major parties will have its representatives, from different parties on the left through the Third Way, PSL, Polska 2050 up to the Confederation, and this balance must become the basis for joint action for a better future, for cooperation. no war, or total opposition, the opposition must be constructive
– added.
Mateusz Morawiecki pointed out that in such a situation it is dialogue that is important, and not behind-the-scenes fighting between individual factions.
Credibility and responsibility are not just campaign slogans. This is the motto that guides all our activities in PiS and, in my opinion, these are the expectations of the voters, the expectations of the Poles, that parties are credible, that parties show solidarity. Solidarity, i.e. those whose basic line of action is focused on the word, the sacred word for Poland, solidarity. I will do everything I can to meet these expectations of the Poles
– he concluded.
