Important changes often take place in an almost imperceptible, very discreet way, unnoticed by many. And this is exactly the change we are now experiencing in Polish politics. This is when the opposition – especially the Civic Platform – realized that they would no longer deliver a knockout blow to Law and Justice. He will win unconvincingly, crushingly. The dream of a revolutionary outcome, which politically justified the restoration of ‘what was’, unconstitutional actions based on violence, lay in shambles. Regardless of who will rule Poland in late autumn, the PO will not be able to claim that Poland has unanimously and en masse rejected Law and Justice. Thus, the past eight years cannot be written down in a notebook entitled “Embarrassing Polish Mistakes”, which was Tusk’s dream and what he tried to do in 2005-2007.
What brought about this fundamental change? The “battle for winter” has won, the surprising energy of PiS, which after eight years of rule seems less tired than the PO after eight years of opposition. The platform’s program void, against which PiS is an intellectual force brimming with ideas. The attack on John Paul II, which caused the reghettoization of leftist and liberal circles. But above all: convincing Poland that PiS delivers. PO underestimated society again.
The platform is desperate. She covered the whole country with cheap posters “PiS = expensive”, when … she registered a drop in the polls. The public, though weary of inflation and rising prices, knows that it is not the government’s fault. And he feels that Tusk’s government would shift all the costs of the war onto society, without these generous shields, which the Morawiecki government does not regret. In fact, our protection programs are the most generous in Europe.

What’s left of the platform? The hope that the march on June 4 will change everything.
“It will show the strength of people of good will, people who think alike, who want changes in Poland. This is a symbolic date that will become a sure start when it comes to the election campaign, and I believe that right there and summer work will yield results in the polls, but especially in the elections.
— – he said on TOK FM Boris Budka. Jan Śpiewak rightly called it “magical thinking”. This march will not change anything, which will shift support between the opposition parties if the leaders of Poland 2050, the left or PSL fall into a trap and the wind will blow on Tusk’s feast.
The opposition was left with hopes of coming to power in the least ambitious way possible: make a slim majority of anything against PiS, including the Confederacy or its parts. It is possible, it has happened before in history, it has been experienced by General de Gaulle in post-war France, surrounded by the cordon of the old parties. But will it be a force that will survive? Doubtful.
The ball is in the PiS side today. If he does not make a mistake, and if he finds a way to attract an important social group with a precisely measured promise (this is probably the most important task today), will win a third termultimately burying Tusk’s career.
