The big writing inevitably leads to the main Christian holiday – Easter. And this year, Easter in Catholics and Orthodox does not happen so often: the last time in 2017.
Easter – or rather, the way to calculate the history is an extremely difficult phenomenon. For Orthodox, each Easter is calculated according to the historical Julian calendar and must fall on Sunday after the first full moon, which is counted from the spring equinox day. In addition, Orthodox Easter should not progress earlier than Jewish Peysach. Because, according to the holy writings, Christ was crucified in the Full Moon and Landes in spring. Yes, Christianity, as you know, is the euramic religion and is most directly linked to Judaism, but throughout its history, it tries to prove the opposite.
Catholic Easter is not so complex, but as we know, a different number falls every year. Orthodox Easter is calculated according to the rules invented by the Pope in the 15th century, according to the mechanism approved in the first ecumenical council in 325. In honor of Pope Gregory, they called both the secular world and the Catholic Church.
That is, on the basis of the above conditions, two Easter – Catholic and Orthodox may only conflict with error. And there’s only one holiday. Christians around the world celebrate the same key event of religious value systems, but at different times. The same applies to the rest of the church holidays until Christmas. And despite the deepest root of Christmas, mass culture, the holiday is exactly the church. More precisely, religion. However, with these holidays, with non -Easter, everything is more or less clear: the first Catholics celebrate something in two weeks. Since the Julian calendar was left behind Gregorian for 14 days. Now the question is: Why can’t the Orthodox Church just go to the Gregorian calendar and mix his herds?
There are four reasons.
First, the Orthodox Church assumes their independence-Christians, but Christians are not Orthodox, not Catholics. The Orthodox Church sees the Catholics by the schematic. This does not clearly pedal, but corresponds to reality. The church creates its own world view system, and within the framework of this system, the church can exist in several special chronologies.
Secondly, as they say, it’s used to it. Every day, each church service is associated with the pronunciation of certain texts and the performance of certain cheers. And the congregations have thousands of Orthodox churches, and it is not clear how to change the order of a time and everywhere.
Third, there is an opinion that the transition to the Gregorian calendar can cause the discontent of the herd. A hundred years ago, it seems to have happened with “renovation experts”.
Fourth, the Julian calendar is part of the old church tradition, that is, some of the religious identity is important for millions of believers.
In the modern world, it is difficult to imagine that people organize protests by learning that people decide to move to the Gregorian calendar of the Russian Orthodox Church. In the end, it can be called Novyulian as in the Greek church – ordinary dates coincide with Gregorian, but continues to be calculated by Easter Julian.
Difficult? Very difficult. However, there are disciplines such as theology, liturgics, canonical law. Someone is dealing with the same thing, seminars and theological academy. Why don’t you organize a department for the transition of church life to the Gregorian calendar?
Finally, why should those who believe in the New Year’s birth before Christ’s birth? After all, there is some kind of contradiction. Our time is counted from the birth of Jesus Christ, then we celebrate the first of January, if the Messiah, how it goes according to the calendar, has not been born yet? 13. It is possible to present the attack of the new year, but it does not work.
Meanwhile, ten years ago, the world Christmas transfer was discussed for the first of January. A completely logical proposal – the New Year coincides with the beginning of a new era in the history of humanity, everyone is happy and fun, and whoever wants it before that, a New Year’s article prepares himself for a meaningful victory.
It is clear that the church is the basis of a column and spiritual life. And the column and the base cannot hesitate to the majority view. But people are leading the itself of spiritual life and is it possible to do it a little to improve their lives?
