Aligned with its social commitments, the event took place at Iberdrola’s Madrid headquarters to unveil a new initiative titled “We Build Together.” The gathering drew more than 100 participants, including prominent non-governmental organizations such as Save the Children and UNICEF Spain, as well as leading Spanish law firms.

We Build Together unites Iberdrola’s Legal and Tax Services professionals with lawyers from fourteen signatory firms. The aim is to deliver top-tier training and advisory services in legal and tax matters to nonprofit organizations. Through this program, beneficiary organizations will gain access to ongoing resources that address their current and future training needs in legal and tax areas. Iberdrola professionals and collaborating firms will contribute their expertise on a voluntary basis to a cause that has clear social value.

The project will unfold through three main activity streams: in-person training sessions, the creation and distribution of materials such as legislative guides and regulations related to legal issues, and practical, thematic workshops.

This initiative, a component of Iberdrola’s Pro Bono Program for Legal and Tax matters and overseen by its General Secretariat and Board of Directors, marks the first global collaboration of its kind between an internal legal consultancy and a consortium of leading law firms in Spain and beyond.

The alliance was launched with attendance from the General Secretary, members of Iberdrola’s Board of Directors, and managing partners from firms including Allen & Overy, Baker McKenzie, Broseta, Clifford Chance, CMS Albiñana & Suárez de Lezo, Cuatrecasas, Garrigues, Hogan Lovells, Linklaters, Ontier, Pérez-Llorca, Uría Menéndez, Watson Farley & Williams, and White & Case.

Following the signing ceremony, three roundtable discussions were hosted under the banner of Pro Bono initiatives: “The impact of Legal Pro Bono on access to justice,” “Legal Pro Bono as a responsible and sustainable practice,” and “Pro Bono by country: success stories.” The Foundation, along with leading experts and representatives from the Pro Bono ecosystem in Spain and partners from law firms Uría Menéndez, Garrigues, Pérez-Llorca, CMS Albiñana & Suárez de Lezo, Baker McKenzie, Clifford Chance, Allen & Overy, Watson Farley & Williams, and Iberdrola’s Global Legal and Tax Pro Bono Team, contributed to these dialogues.
