Overview of the Valencia Community Industrial Zones Congress and Its Significance

The focus is on sustainability and effective management of business parks. The 3rd Valencia Community Industrial Zones Congress is scheduled for Tuesday, December 13, and Wednesday, December 14, at the Alicante Museum of Contemporary Art MACA. The Valencian Community currently hosts 740 business parks. The industrial sector contributes about half of regional GDP and supports tens of thousands of jobs. The congress seeks to highlight the value of industrial areas and stress the importance of increased investment, as explained by Santiago Salvador, president of Fepeval.

The event will examine the core elements that enable better management and strengthen sustainability. Topics will include circular economy practices, digitalization and Industry 4.0, industrial symbiosis, sustainable mobility, security, infrastructure management, and value-added services within industrial zones.

A central objective is to discuss the Advantages of Management and Modernization Organizations (EGM) structure, a new legal framework now being applied in Valencia’s industrial regions. This framework is designed to deliver value-added services and foster public-private cooperation to boost competitiveness.

According to Fepeval, the new law guides management, modernization, and the promotion of industrial sites through effective public-private collaboration. The congress aims to cultivate a culture of quality in business areas by developing Management and Modernization Units that support ongoing improvement and accountability.

The initiative is organized by the Valencia Community Business Parks Federation (Fepeval) in collaboration with Ivace. It will gather representatives from diverse institutions and organizations with expertise in industrial park management. Professionals and speakers will share knowledge, present practical examples, and offer insights to elevate the overall quality of Valencia’s industrial zones.

Participants note that the meeting is timely and valuable for the industrial sector and business parks. Experts from across Spain will attend to exchange experiences and learn from concrete actions already in place.

Key attendees include the Minister of Sustainable Economy, Productive Sectors, Trade and Labor, Raphael Climent; the Managing Director of Ivace, Julia Company; and the regional secretary of Sustainable Economy, Productive Sectors, Trade and Consumption, Empar Martinez. Registration is available via the provided link, and additional information can be found on the congress website.
