A recent legal inquiry focuses on a teacher accused of recording naked minors at the Virgen de Europa school in Boadilla del Monte, near Madrid. Investigators are examining thirty hard drives and attempting to recover additional content from twelve more devices to determine the scale of the material in circulation and to understand when and how it was created.

The Móstoles Investigation Court No. 5 has indicated that the Civil Guard will complete this analysis as part of the ongoing investigation, according to legal briefings available to the press.

Eight families have already joined the case, and the court has left the door open for additional families to participate as the inquiry unfolds.

Information shared through the counsel for the families describes a discovery by a neighbor of the teacher that occurred last June. A neighbor located a camera in the area of a closet within the teacher’s office and found footage showing students changing clothes. The neighbor turned the equipment over to the Civil Guard for assessment.

Early accounts suggest the footage was found at the time of the initial investigation and that the camera was concealed in the teacher’s office rather than in a public area. Authorities have confirmed that the footage appeared to document occasions when students changed their clothing, with the materials allegedly captured the day before the discovery and described by investigative sources.

The inquiry indicates that the teacher may have guided the minors to change clothes within the office space before or after physical education sessions, possibly using claims of temperature issues in the school’s locker rooms as a pretext.

On June 19, 2022, a resident from Villanueva del Pardillo, where the educator resides, reported a backpack containing a video camera and observed footage of girls changing clothes. The neighbor brought the device to the Civil Guard to initiate a formal review.

The investigation also notes that the teacher had misplaced the backpack on June 11, and the following day reproached some students who were suspected of stealing it. Officials are said to have hidden hard drives around the teacher’s residence and to have isolated others, though no devices were recovered at the time of the initial search.

By late June, authorities arrested the teacher and the individual was detained on charges related to possession and production of child pornography. The individual declined to testify before the investigating magistrate and during police questioning.

In response to the proceedings, precautionary measures were put in place, including an order that the teacher be removed from any teaching activities and from locations where minors are present.

The subject of the inquiry has been identified as Enrique Maestu Unturbe, a relative of the school’s director. Early reports linked him to leadership roles within private and independent schools associations, though such affiliations were reportedly suspended once the case emerged into public view.

The Virgen de Europa school publicly stated that, within a day of learning about the facts, the teacher was removed from all school duties. The school issued a communication to the school community, inviting families seeking further information to contact the school directly, and ensuring that all relevant information was handed to the justice system for review.

Officials indicated that the teacher remained under investigation but that some family members connected to the school also faced supervision or restrictions as part of ongoing measures. The broader school community is continuing to cooperate with authorities as the investigation proceeds, with all parties awaiting further judicial decisions and potential updates to the case.
