Sprinter, the Alicante-based multi-brand sporting goods retailer, has begun the new season with a bold expansion. The company opened two new stores in Oviedo and Sevilla and carried out renovations in its Alzira and Murcia locations. Together, these moves have required the recruitment of 83 new employees. It is only a preview of Sprinter’s expansion plan for the coming year, which includes the opening of another 15 stores.

The Oviedo store, which opens this Thursday, is located in the Parque Principado shopping center. It spans 1,181 square meters and is supported by a 23-person team. The Sevilla store will welcome customers on September 6 in the Nervión shopping center, covering 690 square meters with a team of 22 people.

The new Murcia store, also opened this week, is situated in the Nueva Condomina shopping center, relocated within the same complex. The new space offers 2,097 square meters, doubling the previous footprint. This places the Murcia location among the four largest Sprinter stores in the country. It starts with a strong team that will grow from 39 employees to 72, with 33 hires added. At the same time, the renovated Alzira store will welcome five new team members.

Together, these four stores will add 83 positions and more than 5,000 square meters of selling space. They deliver not only a refreshed shopping experience with leading international brands but also product testing areas and environments that integrate online shopping with in-store experiences.

In line with its expansion strategy, Sprinter continues to broaden its national footprint. Looking ahead to 2025, the company plans to inaugurate 15 more stores. With these openings, Sprinter now operates 207 stores across Spain.

“With these openings we are hitting the milestones we set at the start of the year, and there is a possibility we may finalize additional agreements in the coming weeks. That could allow us to increase this opening pace before the end of the year,” states Cesar Cuadrillero, Sprinter’s Head of Retail.

“In addition, for 2025 we will maintain a strong expansion plan with 15 new stores across Iberia. The model will follow our most recent openings such as Finestrelles or Santo Tirso, which have been very well received by customers. Sections dedicated to athletics, football, and fitness will be prominent, complemented by a range of services and experiences that create more touchpoints with shoppers and better meet their daily needs.”
