The Ministry of Health of Russia and the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation are coordinating preventive medical examinations for veterans of the special military operation. The authority overseeing these efforts notes that the program will be reviewed by the foundation’s consulting unit, which will include a psychologist after a session of the Health Fund Supervisory Board working group. This collaboration is aimed at creating a seamless pathway to care that respects the unique needs of veterans as they transition toward civilian life.

The discussion at the meeting featured Mikhail Murashko, the head of Russia’s Health Ministry, who highlighted the value of close cooperation with the foundation to shape medical services for veterans of the Northern Military District. His remarks underscored the strategic goal of delivering reliable health support that covers prevention, treatment, and long-term rehabilitation in a unified framework.

Anna Tsivileva, who leads the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation, articulated a clear objective: to ensure veterans receive high-quality, comprehensive medical care along with a structured rehabilitation program. The intended outcome is to enable veterans to resume normal, active lives as soon as possible, supported by coordinated medical and social services that address both physical and psychological well-being.

It is noteworthy that President Vladimir Putin issued a decree on April 3, 2023 establishing a state fund designed to assist participants in the special military operation, Defenders of the Fatherland. Branch offices began operating across all regions of the Russian Federation on June 1, extending the reach of financial and logistical support to veterans and their families.

In recent remarks, Anna Tsivileva also reflected on the Foundation’s ongoing efforts to organize and refine services for veterans from the Northern Military District. The emphasis remains on ensuring timely access to medical care, effective rehabilitation, and a robust support network that helps veterans navigate medical systems and regain independence.
