In its new chapter, the series shifts gears: characters confront a fresh start, as if the upcoming season marks a rebirth that begins almost from scratch. The13th season has already been filmed in Madrid, and the first look reveals a blend of veteran faces and exciting new signatures. The most striking change, however, lies in the setting itself. The creators have developed a bold new backdrop that signals a clear evolution for the show. The action moves away from the familiar suburbs and into a grand, newly constructed building that becomes the center of the storyline.

According to a press release, following the events of the prior season, the residents of Mirador de Montepínar were expropriated from their homes. They are compelled to relocate to a central structure situated at Calle Contubernio 49, a nod to the production company associated with the Caballero brothers. In this building, the core ensemble will share space with fresh neighbors, witness the leadership of a president who governs with a steady hand, and experience a mix of adventures and misfortunes delivered with the series’ signature humor.

As explained by the producers, the cast for episode 13 features familiar stars such as Jordi Sánchez, Nathalie Seseña, Pablo Chiapella, Carlos Areces, Luis Merlo, Fernando Tejero, Miren Ibarguren, Loles León, Petra Martínez, Eva Isanta, Nacho Guerreros, Ricardo Arroyo, and Macarena Gómez. The lineup is complemented by ten newcomers, including Laura Gómez Lacueva, Félix Gómez, Carlos Chamarro, Mamen García, Margarita Asquerino, Inma Pérez Quirós, Álex Gadea, Elizabeth Larena, Jaime Riba, and Álex Delacroix, broadening the dynamic of the ensemble.

“The one to come” is an original creation by Alberto and Laura Caballero and Daniel Deorador, with Laura Caballero directing and the writing team featuring Alberto Caballero, Dani Deorador, and Araceli Álvarez de Sotomayor. The 13th season of “La que se avecina” is produced by Mediaset Spain in collaboration with Contubernio Films. It is directed by Laura Caballero and stars Alberto Caballero, Dani Deorador, and Araceli Álvarez de Sotomayor. The project will premiere on Prime Video before it becomes available on Mediaset Spain, ensuring a wide release across platforms.

The new building of ‘La que se avecina’

The production unfolds across two primary sets, expanding to 1,500 square meters and 800 square meters respectively, to anchor the series’ new phase. The Contubernio 49 residence stands as the central hub, where the residents of Mirador de Montepinar set up their lives. Surrounding these interiors is a substantial exterior set that recreates the street where the property sits, enriching the overall ambiance of the show.

This refreshed landscape marks a qualitative leap from earlier seasons. The wider filming spaces allow for more expansive camera work and more nuanced visual storytelling. The creative team has introduced a newly developed aesthetic line and a housing design tailored to reflect each character’s personality and living conditions, adding depth and texture to the ensemble’s interactions and daily routines.
