This is the new ‘La que se avecina’: moving into a magnificent building and signing ten in season 13
The beloved Mirador de Montepinar residents, after facing expropriation, set out for a fresh start in a central Madrid residence on Calle Contubernio 49. Their new neighborhood promises a mix of familiar faces and fresh energies, turning daily life into a different kind of comedy under new rooflines and shared hallways.
The 13th season brings a stellar cast together, with Jordi Sánchez, Nathalie Seseña, Pablo Chiapella, Carlos Areces, Luis Merlo, Fernando Tejero, Miren Ibarguren, Loles León, Petra Martínez, Eva Isanta, Nacho Guerreros, Ricardo Arroyo and Macarena Gómez rejoining the ensemble, as reported by EFE. They join a larger roster that includes Laura Gómez Lacueva, Félix Gómez, Carlos Chamarro, Mamen García, Margarita Asquerino, Inma Pérez Quirós, Álex Gadea, Elizabeth Larena, Jaime Riba and Álex Delacroix in the new episodes.
The shift to a centrally located building marks a bold change for the series as it continues to explore the dynamics of neighborly life, power structures within the community, and the comedy that arises from daily friction. The story threads through new relationships, evolving roles, and the ongoing clash of personalities as everyone adapts to a tighter Manhattan-like block in the heart of Madrid.
Greta Garmendia, portrayed by Laura Gómez Lacueva, emerges as a standout neighbor who balances a pharmacy career with motherhood and leadership of the community of proprietors, wielding influence with a firm, sometimes uncompromising hand. Her presence adds a fresh layer to the social fabric of the building and the interactions among residents.
Alongside Greta, a cast of varied personas appears, including a shrewd businessman, a notably energetic character, a psychotic neighbor, and others connected to the more modest ranks of society. The series remains true to its original voice while inviting new dynamics that enrich the narrative tapestry. The creation of La que se avecina is the product of the teamwork of Alberto and Laura Caballero and Daniel Deorador, directed by Laura Caballero with screenwriting by Alberto Caballero, Dani Deorador, and Araceli Álvarez de Sotomayor. The show continues to be a signature work that blends satire, warmth, and sharp social commentary from a unique Madrid perspective.
