Grupo Hafesa, a holding company focused on the storage, marketing, and distribution of petroleum products, has decided to strengthen its leadership team with the appointment of Alfonso Mingarro as chief executive officer of the group.
Alfonso Mingarro will be responsible for the new strategy of the Group and will lead the company globally, defining the new Master Plan and setting priorities to successfully pursue the Group’s growth plans and its transformation into a multi-energy operator. His professional career has always rested on four pillars that have guided his actions: safety and personal well-being, operational excellence, ethics and integrity, and diversity and inclusion.
With a degree in Chemical Sciences from the Autonomous University of Madrid and an MBA from the Instituto de Empresa, Mingarro brings more than thirty years of experience in the energy sector. He began his career in 1992 at Cepsa, specializing in areas related to international crude markets and refined products. He started at technical levels and progressively assumed leadership roles within teams. In recent years, he held executive responsibility for the trading subsidiary, contributing to its growth and expansion in business models, structure and scale, as well as in volume and results.
His trajectory stands out for leadership of highly dynamic business operations in global and complex markets, coordinating high-performance teams in high-pressure environments that require constant decision-making. He has demonstrated an integral leadership style centered on a shared vision and values, and on developing people to maximize their potential and success within the Organization.
In this new stage of his career, he aims to contribute to the transformation of Grupo Hafesa, not only to consolidate it as a strong and reliable operator but also to drive its growth and establish it as one of the leading multi-energy companies in the country.
Quoting Mingarro, the goal is to turn Hafesa into a reference company in the sector due to its dynamism, reliability, and its ability to deliver substantial competitive advantages to customers and the best service.
The appointment reinforces the new executive team of the company alongside Diego Guardamino, who will continue to serve as Chief Executive Officer, Álvaro Sanz as Corporate Chief Financial Officer, Javier del Amo as Director of Technology, and Carlos Corredera as Director of Legal Advisory.
Guardamino expressed enthusiasm about this new chapter, stating that it is a privilege to have Alfonso lead the company into the next phase. He and all teams are prepared to give their best and help take the organization to the next level.
