Hendrick’s Gin unveils Flora Adora, a limited edition experience that draws its inspiration from nature and creative expansions of a first cocktail collection centered on ten butterfly species. Twenty-one Spanish cocktail masters pooled their imagination to craft a collection that breathes life into extraordinary drinks, culminating in a literary-meets-mlixology project titled The Garden of Curiosities. This immersive experience runs from 8 to 22 May and travels through some of the country’s most renowned cocktail bars in Barcelona, Cordoba, Madrid, Malaga, Seville and Valencia.

Butterflies, those delicate spring jewels, anchor the concept behind these cocktails, each one shaped by the interrogations of the bartenders as they explore form, color, geographic origin, and the flowers that sustain the creatures. The project blends mixology with lepidopterology, the science focused on butterflies, to highlight ten species including Birdwing, Monarch, Peacock, Great Purple Emperor, Harlequin, Machaon, Celastrina Ladon, Cristal Callicore Cajetine, and Tiger Swallowtail. This confluence of science and craft invites guests to view the drinks through the lens of evolutionary grace and natural design.

Across the window of two weeks, twenty-one cocktail bars spanning Spain will present their signature interpretations to the public. The city-by-city line-up promises a curated journey through taste and technique, inviting visitors to seek out these distinctive venues:

Barcelona: Lamppost, Especiarium, Somnia and Pax.

Cordoba: Regional Cocktail Bar.

Madrid: Harrison, Viva Madrid, Lovo Cocktail, Love Company 1969, Momus, El Coleccionista and Maldita Gioconda.

Malaga: Dirty Dog, Cobalt 15, Renard Cocktail Club.

Seville: Naked and Famous, Terraza Doña María and Le XIX.

Valencia: Warsaw Valencia and Euphoria.

Each venue embraces a unique tasting experience inspired by the flora and fauna of the region, carefully selected to showcase a balanced mix of tradition and modernity in cocktail culture. The project elevates the Hendrick’s identity with the beauty and fragility of these creatures, assembling ten butterfly-inspired recipes in a dedicated book meant for enthusiasts who want to explore the craft more deeply. The Garden of Curiosities by Hendrick’s Flora Adora assembles recipes, photographs and the creators involved, along with detailed notes on ingredients and the history behind each creation, all embellished with elegant illustrations by the Zaragoza artist Mercedes Bellido.
