Benilup, also known as Benimarfull in some references, is a tiny hill town with just 97 residents. It sits near Cocentaina, Millena, and Almudaina, offering sweeping views from Vall del Travadell. A must-see is the ethnology museum housed in an old mill, where visitors can glimpse the traditional tools used in oil and wine production. There is an eight-kilometer route ideal for families, a two-and-a-half hour hike starting from Benillup to nearby Benimarfull, a town brimming with nature and charm.
Famorca
Famorca is a quaint valley town nestled between the Serrella and Alfaro mountains. In its historic center stands the Church of San Cayetano, dating back to the 16th century. Nearby, you can explore the snow pit and reach the area on foot via the Les Foietes road. For a meal in the middle of nature, there is a relaxation zone with fountains and picnic tables. Close by are La Cova, Font dels Olbits, and l’Avenc de Famorca. Beyond the village, the Serrella massif opens up a multitude of hiking routes for those who love the outdoors.
In addition to these options, the Serrella mountain range conceals numerous trails, perfect for hiking enthusiasts looking for diverse landscapes and quiet solitude.
Tollos
Tollos offers a scenic 19.5-kilometer circular route of medium difficulty, designed for hikers with mountain experience. The journey lasts around five hours and winds through the upper slopes of the Alfaro range, with a descent into the Malafi valley. The vistas along the way are priceless, rewarding every uphill moment with panoramic views that linger in memory.
The Balcony of Benimassot or Serrella
The town sits within the Almudaina mountain range, in the Seta valley near Benimassot. This village, home to 97 residents, serves as a base for several excursions. Nearby are Roges caves, and visitors can also stop by the Church of the Immaculate Conception.
