The thirtieth edition of 080 Barcelona Fashion is set to unfold from 25 to 28 October, marking a return to live events after four digital sessions. The focus this year leans into sustainability, showcasing a parade built entirely from second‑hand garments and recycled textiles.

In line with environmental goals, the event’s organizers emphasize reuse and second‑hand fashion as a powerful awareness tool. The managing director of the Catalonia Craft and Fashion Chamber, Agnès Russiñol, underscored the message on Monday, noting the sector’s impact and the pressing need for visible eco‑driven initiatives.

Officials highlighted that much clothing ends up discarded and unrecycled, carrying a heavy environmental cost. The aim is to spotlight programs from institutions that direct textiles to recycling facilities, with some runway pieces sourced from these streams. Isaac Peraire, head of the Catalonia Waste Agency, echoed the commitment to transform waste streams into design assets.

The parade bears the name “Reborn” (Renacido) and assembles pieces that are 100% recycled from textile waste sorting plants and second‑hand stores such as Humana. The garments pass through a curated process overseen by stylists Fermin+Gilles, ensuring a cohesive and fashion‑forward presentation.

Following four spectator‑free, pre‑recorded showcases staged in different iconic Barcelona settings, the event returns to a live format at the Sant Pau modernist venue, the same location that welcomed audiences before the pandemic.

There will be participation from twenty‑three fashion houses and creative labels, including seasoned names like Custo Barcelona, Maite, Simorra, Txell Heritage, and Lola Casademunt by Menchen Tomas. New entrants, such as Is Coming and The Label Edition, will also feature their first public runway moments at this edition.

The production embraces a tech‑savvy approach, bridging physical and digital experiences. The LR3 branding will deliver an enhanced digital experience, with a strategy designed to blend on‑site presentation with virtual access so audiences can engage across formats. Marta Coca, the event’s coordinator, emphasized this seamless cross‑channel approach.

Cited as a evolving platform for talent, sustainability, and innovation, the 080 Barcelona Fashion edition demonstrates how fashion events can align creative expression with responsible consumption. The focal point remains clear: celebrate design while reducing environmental impact through thoughtful reuse and recycled materials. Attendees and viewers will witness a curated narrative that blends heritage brands with fresh newcomers, all contributing to a broader dialogue on sustainable fashion practices across Europe and North America.
