Iberdrola launches “Building Together”, a charitable legal project for social organisations, in collaboration with 14 law firms

In line with the company’s social commitment, today the event was held at Iberdrola’s headquarters in Madrid. Launch of the new project called “We Build Together”, The event brought together more than 100 participants, including social organizations such as Save The Children or UNICEF Spain and Spain’s leading law firms.

“Building Together” is a collaboration between Iberdrola’s Legal and Tax Services professionals, in collaboration with lawyers from 14 signatory firms. They will provide the highest quality training and legal and tax advisory services to non-profit organizations. This initiative will enable beneficiary organizations to meet current and future training needs on legal and tax matters. To this end, Iberdrola professionals and collaborating offices will contribute their knowledge and work voluntarily in a task of a distinctly social nature.

The project will be developed through three types of activities: face-to-face training sessions, production and publication of materials such as legislative guides or regulations on legal matters, and thematic workshops of a practical nature.

This initiative, part of Iberdrola’s legal and tax Pro Bono Program and managed by its General Secretariat and Board of Directors, is the first global agreement for this purpose between an internal legal consultancy and a group of leading law firms in the sector in Spain and worldwide. .

The alliance was launched with an event attended by the General Secretary and the Iberdrola Board of Directors, as well as the managing partners of Allen & Overy, Baker McKenzie, Broseta, Clifford Chance, CMS Albiñana & Suárez de Lezo, Cuatrecasas, Garrigues, Hogan Lovells. Linklaters, Ontier, Pérez – Llorca, Uría Menéndez, Watson Farley & Williams and White & Case.

After signing the contract, Three roundtable meetings were held -“The impact of Legal Pro Bono on accessibility to justice”, “Legal Pro Bono as a responsible and sustainable practice” and “Pro Bono by country: success stories”- Foundation, which includes leading experts and representatives of the Pro Bono field (Pro Bono) Spain, UNICEF Spain, Candelita Association, partners responsible for the Pro Bono field of law firms Uría Menéndez, Garrigues, Pérez-Llorca, CMS Albiñana & Suárez de Lezo, Baker McKenzie, Clifford Chance, Allen & Overy, Watson Farley & Willians and Iberdrola’s Global Legal and Tax Pro Bono Team members).
