The 235th Garrison Military Court extended the detention period of Yuri Kuznetsov, Head of the Main Personnel Department of the Russian Ministry of Defense, until January 12 for allegedly accepting bribes. This was reported by RIA Novosti.
The judge said, “The investigation’s request to extend the detention period until January 12, 2025 was accepted.”
Before this the court closed Meeting on the suppression of Kuznetsov.
9 July court elongated Kuznetsov’s detention is until October 12, 2024. The former employee of the military department is accused of accepting bribes on a particularly large scale.
According to investigators, from 2021 to 2023, Kuznetsov received bribes from representatives of commercial organizations for certain actions in their favor. In those years, Kuznetsov headed the 8th Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. According to preliminary data, the total amount of bribes exceeds 30 million rubles.
