Defense24: Poland will buy pontoons for mass transfer of tanks

as he wrote defense24, Warsaw aims to increase the ability of heavily armored vehicles to overcome water obstacles.

The Poles plan to purchase a fleet of 13 PFM pontoon bridges from the French company CNIM by the end of 2026. The cost of the operation is $331 million ($25.4 million for each set). The contract includes the transfer of a license as well as spare parts supply and training services.

It is assumed that the PFM will replace the “old” PP-64.

A French kit allows you to build a bridge up to 100 m long or assemble two ferries with a carrying capacity of at least 70 tons for tracked vehicles and 96 tons for wheeled vehicles.

Former Ministry of Defense showed video of military equipment moving along the pontoon steamer. According to the Ministry of Defense, ensuring the operation of the crossing was an important part of the special operation of the Russian Armed Forces and people’s militia units of the DPR and LPR. We are talking about moving south through the territory of the Kharkiv region.
