Seismologists from the National University of Australia (ANU), North Atlantic, the center of the world and reached Australia by strong winter storms produced by the energy signals. The discovery can help to examine not only our planet, but also other organs of the solar system. The study was published scientifically magazine Seismological Research Letters (SRL).
Scientists used two spiral antenna cages mounted 50 x 50 kilometers to the remote areas of Australia to detect seismic waves.
These waves emerge under the influence of cyclones in the North Atlantic, pass through the core of the Earth and are registered in Australia in summer. The main signal sources were two regions – Greenland and Newfoundland.
According to the opening authors, it may be useful to examine other planets, including people developed technical, tectonic activities or earthquakes.
“This method allows you to define the planets with a core, even if there is no volcanic or tectonic process on it,” Experts said.
The study also showed how the energy of the ocean waves was transmitted from the world’s core, which provided new data to examine the deep layers of the world. Scientists focused on a microstisism – a phenomenon that occurred during the ocean’s interaction with the world surface. The analysis of the data made it possible to determine the most active regions in the North Atlantic, including the southern part of Greenland.
