Digitization and centralization of everyday operations hydraku At street level, it is a powerful tool and a differentiating aspect that has led the company to develop its problem-solving capacity and excellence in the management of the integrated water cycle. This work, combined with the development of new digital solutions, is carried out from the digital transformation center. dinapsisA distributed network of centers across the region to manage and optimize the city’s operations in an integrated and sustainable way, thanks to a suite of digital services focused on providing an agile response to the needs of all municipalities and their residents.
The first of these centers in Benidorm is celebrating its fifth anniversary. “Since its opening in 2017, Dinapsis has proven to be a model of success. Through the development and implementation of more than 30 new solutions, it has made it possible to digitize all processes as well as improve the management of the integrated water cycle, making it more sustainable and efficient”, underlines María Tuesta, president of Dinapsis. Benidorm. a fact that makes it possible to guarantee water supply to the entire population through its timely control. Moreover, the alliances formed in these centers have led to the development of new digital solutions that allow us to respond to the great challenges of all populations, regardless of their size.
Its work does not stop there and the truth is that the center has a team that works every day to continue identifying needs and opportunities for improvement and developing solutions that will enable it to respond to governments, city councils, universities, initiatives. and that day every day in this center citizens share regional problems and work on the development and implementation of advanced solutions for the sustainable management of regions.
Contribution to the city
The centralized management and digitization of operations offered by Dinapsis allows to improve the management of the integrated water cycle, optimize the tasks and integrate the operations to be carried out into the urban plan of the city.
“Last year, the Dinapsis team participated in more than 330,000 missions, managed 9,100 kilometers of drinking water networks and 3,800 sewers, and processed 10,600 events in 60 municipalities and with a staff of 171 operators and 11 planners. Similarly, thanks to the reduction of displacements associated with the optimization of the missions, it was possible to prevent the release of 77,416 kilos of CO2 into the atmosphere”, adds Tuesta.
Dinapsis, for example in drinking water and sewer networks, depends on the condition of the installation, its age, repairs made, etc. It has solutions that help in decision-making and determination of areas that require investment. Using the street survey, the tool combines this data with information about existing investment or other planned actions in the municipality to reduce urban impact and avoid disturbance to residents. Considering all this information and the analyzes made by the expert personnel at the center and all the factors explained, detailed reports are obtained on where to act.
Dinapsis also works on the development of contingency plans, resilience plans and flood prevention plans: Municipal Action Plans for Flood Risk provide maximum protection for people, property and the environment that may be affected by flooding. To this end, a hierarchical and functional structure of tools and resources of both public and private municipality has been created to enable dealing with risk or serious emergencies. These plans have already been prepared by Dinapsis for some municipalities in the Valencian Community to comply with the obligation set by the Generalitat which requires around 70 Valencian municipalities to develop these plans taking into account the analyzed flood risk.
“Resilience plans seek a new approach linked to the dynamic concepts of development and urban growth and represent an additional leap forward into contingency plans. The implementation of the said plan in municipalities allows regional coordination of services and infrastructures from a flexible perspective, allowing the municipality to maintain its continuity in destabilizing situations and optimize its management on a daily basis, ” explains the head of the center.
Another city solution is the remote reading application in water meters. An innovative, efficient and very convenient solution for remote meter reading that allows you to control your water consumption whenever and wherever you want. The advantage of this service is that it informs the user via e-mail and SMS in case of exceeding a certain consumption or the number of hours consumed or stopped by the meter, thus detecting internal leaks. Know the current consumption in dwellings immediately or in uninhabited second homes.
Currently, around 25% of Hidraqua and its subsidiaries’ meters have been replaced with smart meters, representing a total of more than 260,000 meters in the Community of Valencia.
service pack
Dinapsis continues to work day by day to continue providing solutions to the great challenges of cities. It has a range of digital solutions for the management of the integral cycle of water, the city and the circular economy. These solutions respond to key challenges facing Valencia Community municipalities, such as decarbonizing cities or tackling extreme weather effects.
One of these solutions focuses on the calculation of different environmental indicators, which are key to knowing the effects of factors such as the increase in temperature due to climate change, on the natural assets of that region. The ultimate goal is to draw a roadmap that allows, based on the results achieved, to improve the environmental quality of cities and thus the quality of life of their residents and tourists.
In addition, a vehicle requested by the Administration and municipalities of Vega Baja, which suffered serious human and material losses in 2019 Dana, was developed through Dinapsis. It is a tool that offers resilience analysis incorporated through digital terrain. Models, historical pluviometric records, and two-dimensional hydrodynamic models to predict the location and moment of flood damage in a variety of hypothetical scenarios, such as the failure of an infrastructure or the accumulation of solids in a channel.
Likewise, it is working hand in hand with city councils on projects that will be presented in the coming months and aim to obtain European funding through The Next Generation, which will allow cities to continue working on their digitization and resilience. .
