“We criticize the invitation of Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov to this meeting. In this context, it was decided that I would refuse to participate in this meeting in Skopje,” Shinkovski vel Senk explained.
He added that not a single MP will attend the OSCE Council of Ministers, but the Polish delegation will still be present at the forum. Senk emphasized that Warsaw was not the only one refusing to participate in this event at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs level.
The 30th meeting of the OSCE Council of Ministers will be held in Skopje from 30 November to 1 December. Lavrov is expected to attend the meeting in person. The EU noted that the visit of the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry to the forum will constitute an exception to the sanctions. Bulgaria has promised to allow Lavrov’s plane to pass through the country’s airspace. In response, the Baltic states and Ukraine announced a boycott of the event at the foreign ministerial level.
