‘The Bourbons: A Royal Family’ Coming to laSexta and Atresplayer Premium tonight, after over two years of work. What will we be watching from ‘Bourbons: a royal family’ starting this Tuesday?
A Pastor: You will watch the documentary series about the Spanish royal family, in which the back room will be shown for the first time. We will not tell you what has been told before, look at our “second family” we have had all these years, a different but complementary information, facts and a narrative for you.
You said at the press conference that the goal was to find the balance between “guillotine and oral sex.” In addition, what was the biggest challenge of this project?
Author Gabilondo: I guess it happened to be closer to a family, to remove prejudices and fears. It’s also true that we documented ourselves too much, found internal conflicts, and tried to define and outline the characters well. It’s like the reverse of a fiction. You type and then look for characters. With the showcase we had and the images we found, we needed to detail an understandable, believable and emotional story. I guess this worked. It is easier to talk about any middle-class family. Not here you understand the codes of how they relate to each other. To understand them and give them narrative coherence, we had to decipher them thanks to a very large documentation team.
This documentary is also with a large guest cast. How is this quest for testimony organized, based on the goal of finding this balance between “guillotine and fallatio”?
A Pastor: It is obtained organically and professionally. Finally, especially for me, I love being in the wrong place. Don’t give me reason. As a viewer, I wouldn’t want to see this documentary reaffirm my positions. I love the surprise when you hear someone very monarch make a critique, which hurts exactly where it came from, the institution or in this case Juan Carlos I. And vice versa, people who are not very monarchical or republican practice an understanding.
Author Gabilondo: I think we should be very grateful to the testimonies because everyone was very clear, each in their own way. They were not bulky.
José Antonio Anton: You see the honesty. I really like what Ana said. On the one hand or the other, some expressions startle you. This is how things work out when you speak from the heart and honestly.

A Pastor: I prefer not to speculate. Although I do not dare to say how it would have been in the 90s, I think that everything has improved. Of course it would have been different, but I think it was very necessary back then and this makes it even more necessary now.
Has the Royal House contacted you? Did they see him?
A Pastor: They haven’t seen him yet. I am in constant contact with Atresmedia, especially since I have devoted myself to information in recent days and try to get information on every subject every hour, but there was not a single question about the documentary series. They had the opportunity to make them, but they did not.
So there hasn’t been any contact with the Royal House other than asking you to have a team on some official action, right?
A Pastor: Include a camera yes, but no. None. Man, we’d love to interview some Kings, but from then on we’re not asking permission or apologizing. We do our work as we do in our other projects.
The Royal House is an institution that is updated almost daily, but what time period does this documentary cover?
Author Gabilondo: Practically 100 years. From Alfonso XII to Felipe VI and a little Princess Leonor. As for current events, we had to stop because then we would have to livestream the last episode (laughs).
José Antonio Anton: The whole family is approached through all these years, but not with a chronological or historicist will, but with an approach like a global photograph of all these years. The result is perfectly visible now and 50 years from now because it is a story that exists and is told.

I wouldn’t have cared enough if CIS was doing a survey right now, even though it had no credibility, especially for me. There are surveys from private institutions. Beyond my point of view, irrelevant, the crown is above family members, and it’s a repeating pattern so often that even if it’s a good thing, it will stipulate that they continue to take over the head of state.
