At least two people were killed and several more injuredincluding 4 policemen, attacking a mine with explosives Gold in the municipality of Buriticá in Colombia’s Antioquia (northwest) region.
This Wednesday was reported by Colonel Heinar Giovany Puentes, the commander of the Antioquia Police, who made sure that the attack was carried out against a mine belonging to the Zijin-Continental Gold company. “An explosive device was set off in one of the working tunnels,” he said, adding that two mining company officials were killed.
The Antioquia Police commander noted that some of the wounded were taken to the municipality of Santa Fe de Antioquia, where “they progressed satisfactorily and the others were sent to Medellín, the capital of the division, due to the complexity of their wounds”. Likewise, he assured that the judicial authorities had traveled to the area to “collect the corroborative material and physical evidence to be analyzed and processed by the Attorney General’s Office to determine who may have caused this act”.
The strongest group in this municipality is the Colombian Gaitanista Self-Defense Force (AGC) and the Clan del Golfo, also known as the country’s main criminal gang.
