In Krasnoyarsk, scientists developed a method for processing birch sawdust to obtain a number of useful chemicals. Publication of SB RAS “Science in Siberia”.
As a result of the research, it was possible to obtain xylose, levulinic acid and enterosorbents.
As noted, the substances turned out to be developed by a new extraction-catalytic processing method – obtaining a cellulose product and ethanol lignin by extraction with ethanol, followed by a conversion chain to the specified xylose and enterosorbenes.
This procedure allows you to organize the biotreatment of wood at a lower cost of the target product.
“The extracted products are comparable to those obtained by less economical methods of separate processing of birch and can be used in organic synthesis, medicine, veterinary and other fields. In addition, our method makes it possible to obtain pharmaceutical grade xylan in high yield at low temperature using available and inexpensive and non-toxic reagents.” Materials of the Federal Research Center of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Institute of Chemistry and Chemical Technology.
Ancient Russian scientists created microgelsserves as the basis for antiseptics and antibacterial coatings.
