The head of the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation, Konstantin Chuichenko, applied to the Russian Federal Enforcement Agency (FSSP) with a request to stop the practice of applying measures to debtors that significantly exceed the amount of debt. He expressed this in the board of the department on March 17, after the results of the work in 2022. interfax.
“I would like to draw attention to the problem of disproportion between the debt to be collected and the volume of enforcement proceedings carried out by bailiffs,” the Minister said.
According to him, sometimes the measures taken are excessive.
The head of the ministry noted, for example, that “property was confiscated with a debt of several thousand rubles, the value of which is hundreds of times higher than the amount of the fine.”
As Chuichenko points out, the FSSP “should take measures to make appropriate adjustments to its working practices and, if necessary, work with the Ministry of Justice on proposals for legislative changes.”
