The Winddriver Event Returns in Genshin Impact
The Winddriver event is back in Genshin Impact, introducing a sequence of wind themed trials. Players navigate five compact challenges where gusts guide the way and wind coins are earned along the route. This guide explains each stage and how to claim every reward.
How to participate in the Winddriver Event
Getting started is simple. Players need only a couple of prerequisites:
- Reach adventure rank 20.
- Finish the quest Wind from the Underground.
Open the event log and switch to the task tab to begin. Use fast travel to the area between Stone Gate and Dawn Distillery. After speaking with Hun Lang, the gate activates and the first task can be started.
How to pass the Realm of the Northeast Winds challenge
Read the rules before diving in. The tests feature unusual devices. The following descriptions explain what players will encounter and how each device functions.
Wind Interceptor
These are the primary mechanisms that create wind currents. Interaction involves adjusting the wind direction.
Windstop Panel
Small stone devices that momentarily halt nearby wind currents when touched.
Shelter Platform
Several platform types appear. The blue platform stays in place, while the red platform descends after stepping on it.
Pass the test
Approach a wind interceptor and select Change flow direction. The wind then moves upward, enabling coin collection (2/25). The windstop control can be used as well.
Proceed forward and repeat the action to uncover more coins (5/25).
Continue onward. After collecting the Anemo Particle, a mini-challenge begins. The approach is as follows:
- Stop wind currents with a remote control.
- Collect four particles for the interceptor.
- Approach the interceptor and activate it. Change direction so the current moves upward.
- Gather two more particles.
Move toward the hilichurls to clear them. The lower wind interceptor becomes active behind the coins (11/25).
Immediately stop the wind currents and advance. Change the nearest interceptor’s direction and move to the opposite platform. Repeat to activate the mechanism.
Proceed to the next locale. Early encounters with shelter jetties occur. Collect coins (14/25) and descend. Stop wind currents, advance a little, and grab all Anemo particles. Direct the distant interceptor upward as needed.
Here more coins appear (16/25). Climb up to gather additional coins (24/25).
The final mini-challenge is straightforward. Turn off the wind, dash left, and time a jump as the red platforms descend. Move quickly to complete the sequence.
Remember to grab extra coins (30/25) and then reach the finish.

How to pass the Kingdom of the East Winds test
In this challenge, new devices appear. Here is a rundown of each mechanism and how it works.
Lee platform
Massive blue glow structures can rotate with wind currents. Direct the closest stream to tilt the platform as needed.
Floating platform
Platforms that glow blue rise or fall under wind control. If lifting is required, point the wind in the correct direction.
Pass the test
First turn off the wind currents and sprint to the Anemo Particle. Follow the path to complete the mini-challenge and collect all coins (4/25).
Clear a group of hilichurls led by a shamachurl and earn more coins (10/25).
Activate the wind current on the platform to lower it, then climb higher.
At the top, reverse the wind so it points upward and collect coins (25/25).
Lower the movable platform on the left and switch the directions of the two central wind currents toward the upper platforms. This unlocks the next mini-test.
Interact with the Anemo Particle and collect them all. Using Ye Lan’s elemental ability can speed up the process.
At the final location, collect all Anemo particles within the time limit. Before touching the first particle, switch the wind flow direction on the central mechanism.

How to pass the Realm of the Southeast Winds test
The next challenge adds wind power boosters to the map. They help players climb higher and reach new areas.

Activate this device to amplify nearby wind currents. It appears only once in this test.
Pass the test
At the start, a small puzzle must be solved. Several devices generate wind currents and a lifting platform sits in the middle. The method is as follows:
- Turn off all streams with a red device.
- Direct the wind from the first mechanism upward to raise the platform, but plan to act later.
- Run to the wind booster console and switch it on.
- Open the wind flow on the left device and fly upward.
- Collect the Anemo particle.
- Walk onto the first platform and grab the particles.
- Repeat the previous step on the second platform.
- Jump to the last platform and wait for the wind to lift it. Take the final three Anemo Particles.
The test yields coins (4/25).
At the next location, first shut off the wind currents and redirect the device to the right. Return, collect the Anemo Particle, and follow the same pattern in other realms.
At the end you must descend and adjust the wind angle on the last device to collect coins (7/25).
Proceed to the next location and turn right. Defeat the slime to collect more coins (17/25). A small puzzle then follows. Descend and use different wind currents. The first current near a column changes direction. Send three more streams upward so players can return, pick up the Anemo Particle, and complete the challenge.
Run to the finish and grab the coins. A device that amplifies wind currents appears here. Interact with it and rise to claim all rewards at this location (30/25).
