In The Callisto Protocol, players will uncover personal data and audio recordings belonging to a range of characters, from the Black Tin prison warden to ordinary guards. Collecting these items not only sheds light on the ongoing events but also helps unlock two hidden achievements. This guide shows where to locate every collectible.

Before detailing the locations of every collectible, it’s important to clarify a key point. To earn the achievements, players must gather all audio recordings and personal files in a single playthrough. If a chapter is completed and a personal file or audio recording is missing, the achievement cannot be earned in that run.
This happens because players cannot create multiple saves across separate slots, and a separate download of a single chapter after finishing the game is not available. Progress is tied to the current chapter only.
Note that the total counts for personal files and audio recordings appear in a dedicated menu section at the start of each chapter.
Chapter 1: “Freight”
After the opening cutscene, proceed to the first cabin on the left, which is the main character’s room. Open the locker and retrieve the automatic entrance access key.
Chapter 2: Outbreak
Audio recording “Mahler’s Approval for the Position” (1/3)
Upon first meeting the security robots in the Medical Block, search the operating room. On the left side of the device that requires a fuse, there is a recording, and Dr. Caitlin Mahler’s file can be collected as well.
“Elias’ Hope” audio recording (2/3)
The next entry is reachable by taking the taser back to the prison cells near the watchtower. In the cell where Elias stayed, locate the audio recording.
“Ferris’ Complaints” audio (3/3)
Near the previous entrance, ascend the watchtower and watch the officer’s cutscene. When he leaves, inspect the table to obtain the recording.
Chapter 3: “Consequences”
“Closed door” audio recording (1/7)
The first personal file in this chapter can be found before entering the washroom. Inspect the corpse in the scene to retrieve the implant and note.
“Laundry” audio recording (2/7)
Turn right in the laundry area and enter the back room with washing machines. In the far left, behind a unit, pick up an item for the collection.
“Chamber of Secrets 1” audio recording (3/7)
In the same area, examine the left door. Descend, pass another door, and in the hallway break a shield with sharpening to access the ventilation shaft. A secret room awaits with a note from the prison head.
“Audio Breakout” (4/7)
Proceed to the medical block and, before finding the Power Glove, check the doctor’s corpse in the hallway for a sound recording.
“Hung Guard” audio (5/7)
This implant is integral to the story. When Elias asks to locate the elevator, one will encounter a room with hanging guards; examine a note on the floor.
“Personal file” (6/7)
In the fuse area, search for a small attachment. A monster lurks nearby and a corpse is nearby as well.
“Personal file” (7/7)
In the chapter’s final portion, the hero triggers a large mechanism and must survive an infected assault. On the second floor, near the fuse setup, a corpse lies nearby.
“Personal file of Dani Nakamura”
If Dani is freed, the hero’s cell appears after the cutscene; retrieve the personal file from the table.
Remark: this file does not appear among the chapter’s standard personal files. It appears later under the heading “Important people.” If all previously listed files and recordings have been found, only one file remains missing in this section and will be located in Chapter 4.
Chapter 4: “Habitable Dome”
“Corruption” audio recording (1/7)
On the way to the reservoir connected to the residential complex, a closed door blocks the path. A climbable crate sits in front, and there is an audio recording nearby.
“Under the gun” audio recording (2/7)
Inside a large hall where two fuses must be found, a corpse sits at the closed door.
“Cocoons” audio recording (3/7)
When reaching the tanks, avoid the open doorway and push further to a dead end. Interact with the electrical panel to open the warehouse door, take the fuse, and insert it into the second device. A body lies in the lab.
“Guard’s Suicide” audio recording (4/7)
This implant is indispensable. It is needed to drain water from tank 6.
“Security” audio recording (5/7)
Found in the oxygen purification unit. The path requires taking the right door, but the entrance is behind a left-hand door. A hidden crevice leads to the corpse.
“Personal file” (6/7)
In the same building, follow the plot to locate the access code; the file arrives with the security guard’s record.
“Evacuation” audio recording (7/7)
The final entry in this chapter sits in a back room. Enter the building, move left, and interact with the electrical panel to reach the sound recording at the corridor’s end.
Chapter 5: “Lost”
“Terraforming” audio recording (1/8)
After the Elias-cutscene, open a large gate and inspect the distant building for a note.
“Personal file” (2/8)
At the tunnel entrance, an officer calls for help. Saving him is not possible, but the implant can be picked up after his death.
“Firebox” audio recording (3/8)
Inside the tunnels, search a small room with barrels for the recording.
“Close the gate” audio recording (4/8)
Meeting Dani reveals a room with a corpse in the far left corner where the next item lies.
“Personal file” (5/8)
In the generator room, inspect the stuck body to obtain the implant as the generator starts.
“Max’s Alarm” audio recording (6/8). Max’s file
On the protagonist’s ship, search Max’s room. This completes the missing audio recording in the early portion of the game.
“Extermination” audio recording (7/8)
Inspect the truck in the hangar area; a body sits in the rear.
“Requirements” audio recording (8/8)
After climbing with Dani, check the chest near the stairs for the recording.
Chapter 6: “Underground”
“Field diary 1” (1/5)
The entrance appears when Jacob tumbles into the tunnels, resting on a crate beside an infected foe.
“Field Diary 2” (2/5)
When a weapons and ammo printer is found, follow the wall hole into the tunnel. After a confrontation, kill the foes and enter the sole passage; a note rests to the left of a barrel.
“Field Diary 3” (3/5)
Find the key card and open the power reactor path. Just outside, the mine entrance is visible; approach and inspect the corpse.
“Chamber of Secrets 2” (4/5)
The second secret room contains the entry explained in this section.
“Evacuation of Arkas” (5/5)
The corpse with the implant appears only after surviving the monster attack on the moving platform, right before the site exit.
Chapter 7: “Colony”
“Diary of a miner 1” (1/7)
The corpse lies on the road at the chapter’s start.
“Miner’s Diary 2” (2/7)
Near the previous location, inspect the rack for the next clue.
“Miner’s Diary 3” (3/7)
In the miners camp, explore the top floor to find the body and obtain an implant with a file.
“Spy” (4/7)
As the elevator begins, a body blocks the path on the way up.
“On the surface” (5/7)
After ascending, turn left to inspect the first container where a corpse rests.
“Miners diary 4” (6/7)
After finding the fuse and opening the door, examine the body on the floor.
“Discord” (7/7)
Following the mutant officer fight, ride the elevator up and, as the hero steps off, check the chest to the right of the elevator.
Chapter 8: “The Tower”
“Observation” (1/4)
Fighting the two-headed monster in the server room leads to a long corridor; the entrance sits to the left where the infected stands.
“Treason” (2/4)
In the psychiatric block, locate the fuse by climbing the ventilation shaft into the next block, then ascend to the container marked with the radioactive sign and take the plate.
“Experiments” (3/4)
After another encounter with the two-headed monster, follow a long corridor that bends right. Two barrels are just before the bend; one holds a sound recording.
“Cole’s Triumph” (4/4)
After speaking with the doctor, enter the warden’s residence and find the last sound recording on a table in the first large room.
