New musical instruments have been added to reed pipes in Genshin Impact with the latest update. They appear in various puzzles, offering access to rich or precious chests as rewards. This guide explains how to locate and solve every reed pipe riddle currently available.
Where can you find all the reed pipe puzzles?
There are eleven reed pipe puzzles in Genshin Impact at the moment. They are spread across different regions and are not interlinked, so players can tackle them in any order as they explore. More puzzles are expected to appear in future updates.
How to solve riddles with reed pipes
To activate the tongue pipes, first locate dew bubbles. Some puzzles place bubbles near the tools, while others require players to search among dewy branches that can yield bubbles. The key is to spot where the bubbles appear and then use them to trigger the mechanism.
You can move the floating balls using the xenochrome spherical octopus ability. Often devices on the surface grant access to this skill, and underwater players will need to find the creature and borrow its power to manipulate the spheres.
Next to each puzzle, a different device reveals the correct sequence for activating the pipes. Small spheres, numbered one to five, appear above the tools in the same order that the bubbles must explode to create waves. A bow user is typically the most efficient choice for triggering the sequence quickly.
Reed pipes no. 1
From the Epicles Opera House, head south along the path to the pier icon on the map. Near the coast, a device grants the xenochrome octopus ability. Use this skill to move the moving balls: shoot the left ball to affect the two pipes on the left and the rightmost instrument with the right ball. Execute the left strike first, then the right.
From here the next puzzles unfold, each with its own unique device and sequence. The guiding principle remains the same: observe the bubbles, apply the xenochrome power, and shoot in the order shown by the device prompts.
Reed pipes no. 2
Starting from the teleporter in this area, make your way to the shore and inspect the device. It will display the correct sequence. In this instance you do not even need to move any bubbles; simply shoot them in the same order shown in the accompanying screenshot. Completing this puzzle yields a precious chest as a reward.
Reed pipes no. 3
This puzzling set lies underwater. Swim to the Fort Charybdis ruins cave entrance and dive in. Bubbles and octopuses float about. Borrow the creature’s ability and maneuver the ball from the lower level toward the first pipe. When it reaches the lower level, push it to the second level so the wave covers two devices at once. Rise a touch higher, strike the right sphere first and then the left.
A rich chest appears, and nearby a time trial challenges players. Completing it within sixty seconds secures a precious chest as the reward.
Reed pipes no. 4
The teleporter near the fast-travel point leads to the next puzzle. The pipes sit at the tower’s top level, and as players ascend, four devices come into view that must be activated using two bubbles.
The second device sits on the large cog at the top; use another teleporter to bring the sphere down and connect it to the middle ball. Destruction of the resulting giant sphere will grab all tools, and a rich chest awaits as a reward for this stage.
Reed pipes no. 5
Jump down from the previous area and dive underwater. On the destroyed bridge, a bell and an octopus float nearby. Borrow the creature’s ability and use it to extend the lifting column and lower the pipe into place.
Then pop the orb and claim the contents of the rich chest.
Reed pipes no. 6
Return to the continent and explore the mountain base east of Lucin Fountain. First, summon any character from the Anemo element and activate the hydrototem. A bubble appears in the flower to the right. Wait for the wind to lift the ball and start its ascent.
The ball remains suspended opposite the pipes for a while. If the moment is missed, it will rise higher on the rock and activation becomes impossible without lowering it again with the xenochrome octopus. Cocooning the ball back down can reopen the chance to trigger the devices.
Completion grants a precious chest as a reward.
Reed pipes no. 7
The following riddle is straightforward: head to the Hydro Archon statue in the area and approach the water. A bubble sits there to be shot, revealing a rich chest when it bursts.
Reed pipes no. 8
From the previous location, follow the riverbed to locate a new puzzle. Use the xenochrome octopus to move the left ball so the area of effect reaches the second bubble, then shoot the first orb.
Reed pipes no. 9
The next puzzle sits atop the hill between Marco Station and the Weeping Willow near the lake. No elaborate setup is required here—wait for the plant to release another bell and shoot precisely as the ball flies by device level.
Reed pipes no. 10
From the prior puzzle, dash to the Weeping Willow by the lake and dive beneath the water. Under the tree lies a mysterious altar; communicating with it yields the single word bubble. Nearby are contaminated purple crystals that can be cleansed using the xenochrome octopus skill, though the octopus must be released first.
Reed pipes no. 11
The last reed pipe puzzle in the new region lies to the east, near a small island. Use the device to obtain xenochrome octopus abilities and place the orbs as shown. Shoot the left bell and wait for waves to activate all tools.
A precious chest is awarded for solving this final puzzle.
These are all the reed pipe puzzles presently discoverable in Genshin Impact. A note will be added when new regions unlock. If any inaccuracy is found or if a reader wants to contribute to the guide, comments are welcome. (VG Times)
