As players progress through Honkai: Star Rail, they will encounter many chests offering valuable loot. The map displays the most treasures, yet there are additional high-value and luxury chests. This guide details how to collect every treasure on the Hertha space station.
Secrets, riddles and puzzles in Honkai: Star Rail
Opening a map for a location shows a box icon in the top left, with two numbers side by side: boxes already collected and the maximum possible in the area.
That means base treasures are the regular finds, not those hidden behind puzzles or guarded by tough foes. Typically, solving riddles yields valuable chests, while defeating strong monsters grants luxury chests.
If a chest is examined, it rewards a small amount of star jade along with other valuable materials and experience, making chest access essential for quick Pathfinder progression. Players also earn Herthiriums, a special currency exchangeable for unique goods in dedicated shops.
Note: In the Main Control Zone there are no regular loot chests or similar rewards. Here the focus is on notes whose collection adds to the performance record.
How to find all the chests in the base zone
Map indicators show several kinds of containers:
- Basic treasure, counted by the map UI
- Space piggy bank, similar to the basic treasure
- Guarded treasure, a sword icon that does not count toward the total
From the space anchor, head south and turn right. Opposite the stairs lies a regular chest behind a wall.
The next regular chest sits under the opposite staircase.
Leave the safe area and follow the long bridge to the far south where a compartment regular chest sits.
Return, ascend the right stairs, enter the door to the compartment and turn right. A chest sits along the wall there.
Space chest and space piggy bank are marked as numbers five and six.
Revisit the space anchor and enter the left-side compartment. In the corridor, defeat the enemies led by the piggy bank room, then enter the next door. A regular chest stands in the center of the room.
Chests seven, eight, nine and ten become accessible after completing the starting mission reconnaissance and a side mission labeled Birth Again Way, presented by Arlan. The adjacent right corridor opens with three key cards found on the space station. Treasures in a small room on the right do not count toward the total chest count on the map UI.
How to find all the chests in the storage room
The map indicates ten chests, but several more may exist. As noted, treasures hidden behind puzzles or guarded by monsters do not count toward the total. A number of these chests are located on every floor of this area.
Floor 2
Indications on the map:
- Box – basic treasure counted by the map UI
- Space piggy bank – similar to the previous one
- Swords – guarded treasure that does not contribute to the total
- Puzzle – treasure hidden behind a mechanism that does not count toward the total
Most basic chests appear while the introductory missions are completed. Several puzzles on the second floor platform must be solved to access these chests.
For example, a valuable box near the dimensional anchor is earned by solving the glowing passage puzzle, which requires linking all platforms. Similar puzzles appear in other locations as well.
Floor -1
Moving to the left yields substantial treasure, but it requires solving a puzzle with interchangeable bridges.
First descend and defeat the enemies in this zone. Swap the virtual bridge and push forward to the second group of opponents.
Interact with the bridge controller where the monster stood, then locate the same device behind crates on the adjacent platform.
Climb up, activate the controller from above, and a bridge will appear allowing access to a luxury chest. That chest grants the Mysterious Thousand Star Access Authentication Card.
A valuable chest in the northwestern area is guarded by high-ranking rangers and demands careful tactics to defeat them.
How to find all chests in the support zone
A smart start is to search the western part of the support zone. After completing the initial missions, about four chests will be marked on the map, with a potential luxury chest nearby.
Floor 2
Indications on the map:
- Box – basic treasure counted by the map UI
- Space piggy bank – similar to the previous
- Swords – guarded treasure not part of the total
- Puzzle – treasure behind a mystery not counted
Next to the puzzle icon, a chest opens after finishing Arlan’s quest Sensitive Creatures.
A valuable chest in the top left becomes available as Arlan advances through the story.

How to get to the first floor of the Support Zone
The deluxe chest on the first floor of the Support Zone becomes available after completing the quest Out of Range, unlocked at Mastery level 20.
Once the level requirement is met, head to the support zone and take the elevator down to the first floor. The search is triggered automatically, and a call from a stranger on the first floor begins a short chain of puzzles. Interact with the console to activate the blue bridges, defeat enemies, and locate a similar console behind the crates on the far left of the room.
A transparent bridge appears across the room. Return to the previous console and activate the red bridges. Activate the last console to meet the elder and inspect a luxury chest.
