Secret mirrors hidden within Genshin Impact open gateways to Fontaine locations. With them, players can reach special rooms filled with treasures. Discovering all six mirrors unlocks the secret quest “Through the Secret Mirror.” This guide explains where to locate every portal and how to solve the related puzzles.
Location of all secret mirrors
There are six mirrors in total, scattered around Fontaine, particularly near the Mort district. The easiest approach is to explore them during the quest segment “Search in the Sea of Algae.” This mission is part of the larger chain “In the Footsteps of Narcissus” and begins after the Ordo Narcissenkreutz team—Ann, Seymour, and Caterpillar—convene to investigate the mysterious Ortants mechanisms.
If a player cannot enter the portals, they should complete the quest “Secrets of the Book of Revelation.” This can be started by speaking with Melusina Canotila in Merusi village. The exact mirror locations are listed below.
Secret mirror 1
The first mirror appears during the quest “Mother of the Muses,” part of the “Search in the Sea of Algae” mission line. Players should travel to the Archon Statue and descend into the underground ruins.
The descent path is blocked by a grate that can be opened using the xenochrome octopus’s abilities. Borrow a skill from the nearby blue ball device and direct a water stream at the mechanism beside the cage.
From there, fly down into a large hall housing the Memory Orthant. To access the first portal, the riddle tied to this device must be solved.
To start, strike the blue crystal with a normal attack until it shifts to yellow. Then grab the octopus power from the adjacent device and lift the mechanism, allowing the light to pass through the gray lens.
With the generator aligned, strike the crystal again to lock the device in place. When done correctly, blue light will illuminate all wall devices and the grille on the left opens.
Take the elevator down using the Soul Orthant. The route is blocked by another grate. Activate the mechanism with crystals to open it.
Release energy from the device before it. Trace the substance’s movement along the line and reach the elevator. Return up and repeat the process.
After this, defeat the two mechs on the far side and release their energy as well.
Following Ortant’s launch, return to it and check the top. Speak with Paimon; the room floods after a moment. Float upward to find a mirror behind the barrier.
Entering the portal transports the character to a special chamber where Rupture Puppies wait. Defeat them and use the purple-lit mirror to reach a rich chest.
Secret mirror 2
The second mirror is reached via the underground teleportation point in the ruins of Fort Charybdis, leading to a spacious hall containing the second Ortant.
The mirror itself sits in the left-hand hall beside the grille. Destroy the Mek and solve the lens puzzle. To finish, use the xenochrome octopus power to interact with the columns so they reach the required size. When aligned, the cage opens and the portal turns purple.
Enter the mirror to confront the Rip Hound. After defeating the foe, a substantial chest opens. Take the reward and pass through the mirror behind the treasure chest.
Secret mirror 3
From the exit portal, take the elevator up and descend to the next level.
The path ahead is blocked. Defeat the Mek and interact with the left-hand crystal. A normal attack will break through the front grille while the rear grille lowers.
Include an archer in the team. Approach the second grate and aim at the crystal.
Continue down the corridor to a large room housing an energy device. Jump down and head toward the lens puzzle.
Use the xenochrome octopus ability to target the columns. Lower them so the generator beam hits the lens. Start by lowering the left column first, as it is smaller but slower to move. Wait for the second lens to glow blue, then interact with the tall pillar.
Defeat the Mek guarding the next energy mechanism and take the elevator down.
Move toward the mechanism that releases energy. Interact with the crystal to ensure the substance flows along the correct path.
On the left side of the mechanism is another mirror. Enter and defeat the Rip Puppies again.
Go through the second mirror to claim a superb chest.
Secret mirror 4
Use the underwater travel point near the eastern slope of Mon Atoneki. To the left, ruins hide the fourth mysterious mirror.
Advance through the cave until a passage opens into a large hall. If blocked by a barrier, complete the quest “Thalia and Melpomene.” It becomes available after completing other tasks from the Sea of Algae quest line.
A mirror rests near the left wall waiting to be entered. Defeat the Rip Hound and claim the rich chest.
Secret mirror 5
The fifth mirror becomes accessible only after finishing the Narcissus quest line. This substantial arc follows the individual missions involving Ordo Narcissenkreutz members Ann, Seymour, and Caterpillar.
Use the ground teleporter at the sunken tower and dive into the water.
Swim to the lower level of the building, toward its center. Defeat the meks, duck under the gears and press Enter.
After this, the character is teleported inside the tower. Swim to the stained glass window and turn left. There, the fifth mirror sits on the wall. Enter the portal. Grab the rich chest by circling the barrier on the right, then pass through the sunflower image behind the ghost.
Secret mirror 6
Use the underwater travel point near the eastern slope of Mon Atoneki. Across from the teleport lies a grand hall where the final mysterious mirror is kept. If guarded by a barrier, complete the quest “Cupid’s Love” (part of the Looking for algae in the sea line).
Proceed from the device and leap down. Follow the blue stripes.
Defeat the Meks at the front and continue along the Hydro Portal.
To the left of the energy device lies the final mirror. Enter and solve the torch puzzle.
Bring a Pyro character into the team, such as Amber or Yoimiya, and light two fires in the right corner near the flower painting.
The yellow ghost will emerge from the painting, and the character must retreat from the nearby mirror. After locating all mirrors, the secret quest “Through the Secret Mirror” is automatically added to the quest log. Collecting all portals yields roughly 30 source stones and various raw materials.
