The most vital factor for surviving V Ascending is acceleration. The game features many weapon and armor types, each with distinct traits. Equipment also wears down with use. This guide explains how to craft, improve, and repair weapons and gear.

How to make weapons and equipment

If the vampire journey has begun, players may notice that major infrastructure buildings unlock only after defeating certain bosses. They will receive the basic essentials during the training phase.

Pay attention to the Castle Heart. It must be regularly fed with blood essence, or the base will lose functionality and buildings may start to collapse.

For each item, a suitable building and a recipe are required. Instructions can be obtained in several ways:

  • defeating bosses
  • defeating common enemies
  • using research tables such as the Researcher’s Table or the Scientist’s Table

All options above are not a guaranteed route to quick access to high level recipes. Research often requires finding papers, scrolls, or diagrams.

Buildings needed to craft weapons and equipment:

  • Simple workbench – unlocked during training and used to craft basic items
  • Woodworking Bench – unlocked after defeating Rufus the Foreman; enables crossbows and wooden items
  • Alchemy Bank – unlocked after defeating Clive the Firestarter; enables potions, ointments, and explosives
  • Sewing Machine, also called Tailoring Bench – unlocked after defeating Quincey the Bandit King; crafts cloth clothing and armor
  • Forge – unlocked after defeating Quincey the Bandit King; crafts iron weapons
  • Anvil – unlocked by defeating Octavian the Militia Captain; crafts high quality weapons and armor

How to repair weapons and armor

When equipment durability drops, symbols appear above the blood supply. As the situation worsens, the icon shifts from yellow to red. Open the inventory, hover over the item, and press the middle mouse button to spend resources and restore durability.

Keep in mind that simple gear often serves as a building block for more advanced equipment, so repairing items already made can be worthwhile to save resources. However, there are times when crafting new gear is cheaper, so repair with strategy in mind.

Discarding or disassembling unnecessary armor and weapons in the Devourer is not recommended, since such items can prove handy for followers. For those curious about recruiting a servant, this guide offers insights.

How to upgrade weapons and armor

Upgrading is possible through specific recipes unlocked with papers, scrolls, and schemes on specialized tables. Paper can be created with a Paper Press found on the castle’s third floor. Until the citadel is fully developed, players must collect paper from defeated enemies.

Other essential buildings include:

  • Research agency – opens recipes for first level equipment; paper is required to use
  • Examination table, also called Study – opens second level item recipes; scrolls are needed
  • Reading room, known as Athenaeum – unlocks third level item recipes; schemes are required

Other guides

Source notes appear in game guides and wikis to help players progress and plan, including how to manage resources, discover new crafting options, and leverage each building for better equipment outcomes. Readers are encouraged to experiment with the system and consult in game research resources as needed to unlock further capabilities. (VG Times)
