How armor works in Elden Ring
Many players miss a key detail. In FromSoftware games, the practical gap between light and heavy armor is small. What matters most is staying protected in combat and managing stamina. The most important stat to watch is vitality; keeping it topped up helps survive longer fights. Learning to dodge and to use a shield effectively is essential as well.

There are no class-specific armor restrictions. A mage can wear the heaviest plate if the player desires, but stamina constraints may hinder running and dodging in tight battles.
Musk Ox armor
This armor shines for warriors who rely on raw power. To wear it, a character should raise the Resilience stat to 50 and equip the Great Jug Store amulet. Benefits aren’t limited to high durability: it also makes powerful attacks notably hard for enemies to interrupt. This matters especially when wielding multi-hit weapons like the Blasphemous Blade, where timing a special move is crucial.

First, players travel to a location called the Dirty Cave as marked on the map. They pass through the green mist and open a chest, triggering a confrontation with Patchwork. The key is not to finish him off; a fatal strike would lock away the armor. When Patchwork is reduced to roughly one third health, he will plead for mercy. At that moment, the player should choose to spare him.

There, speaking with the manor’s mistress and following her directions brings players to Patchwork again. If he fails to appear, resting near the mercy-site and selecting the About patch option can trigger the meeting.
Next, proceed to the side hallway to the mistress’s right. The second room on the left hides a letter on a table that advances the quest.
Players are instructed to slay Isstvan and travel to a parallel world via a red-marked map point. After defeating the foe, return to Vulkan Manor and speak with the mistress, then Patchwork again to receive a new command important for progression.
If Magma Serpent Makar has already been defeated, players can revisit him in the arena. If not, return to the mercy-area titled Village Sheltered. If it isn’t accessible yet, ride the Great Dectus Elevator down and traverse the stone slabs to reach the lower levels.
Climbing ladders and elevators is part of a long, linear route. Defeat the Magma Serpent and rest at the mercy site. After the location reloads, an opportunity to enter another world appears. Take it and continue. The final challenge tests protection from physical blows while offering vulnerability to fire; defeating this foe yields the Musk Ox armor.
Dragon armor

Sacred Tree Knight Armor
